Class Action / Insurance Defense Associate (2–4 Years) | Downtown Toronto

The Opportunity: Elevate Your Advocacy

A premier Ontario-based boutique is seeking a Litigation Associate to join their elite Insurance Defense practice with a Class Action focus in North York. This firm is widely recognized for its sophisticated approach to complex advocacy and a firm culture that balances high-stakes performance with genuine professional development.

Why This Role?

This is a strategic move for an ambitious Insurance Defense Lawyer ready to graduate from a "processing" role to a "lead" role. You won’t just be summarizing files; you will be driving them.

  • Front-Line Courtroom Access: Frequent opportunities to lead examinations for discovery, contested motions, and assist on complex trials.
  • Sustainable Performance: A competitive billing structure designed for high achievers who value a respected work-life balance.
  • Hybrid Ecosystem: A progressive policy offering the flexibility of remote work alongside the collaborative energy of a downtown office.
  • Mentorship from the Best: Work directly with senior partners who are among the most respected names in the Ontario defense bar.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience: 2–4 years of post-call experience in insurance defense (law firm or in-house).
  • Case Management: Proven ability to manage a diverse portfolio, including MVA and tort claims, with minimal supervision.
  • Strategic Mindset: A proactive litigator who looks beyond the next deadline to find creative paths toward resolution.
  • Communication: Sharp drafting skills and the executive presence required to counsel sophisticated institutional clients.

Taking the Next Step

Opportunities to join a group of this pedigree in a mentorship-heavy environment are rare. If you are looking for a platform that offers a true career trajectory and consistent courtroom exposure, this is the transition you’ve been waiting for.
