CLIENT ACCOUNTANT
You will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely client accounting for a diverse residential block management portfolio. Based in Manchester with hybrid working, you will be the financial partner to our property managers and clients, turning complex numbers into clear insight and dependable outcomes.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS
You will own the end-to-end service charge accounting cycle for an allocated portfolio, from bank reconciliations and accruals to draft year-end accounts and audit liaison. Most days you will collaborate with property managers, resolve queries from clients and suppliers, and keep ledgers, statements and budgets accurate and up to date.

What Success Looks Like
- Consistently accurate ledgers, reconciled bank accounts and clean month-end close within agreed timelines.
- Year-end service charge accounts delivered on schedule, with clear working papers and minimal audit queries.
- Proactive communication that keeps property managers and clients informed, with queries resolved promptly.
- Forecasts and budgets that are realistic, well-evidenced and easily understood by non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong cash management: timely supplier payments, robust credit control support and clear client statements.
- Continuous improvement mindset that streamlines processes and strengthens financial controls.
- Preparing monthly bank reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments for your portfolio.
- Producing draft service charge year-end accounts, supporting schedules and audit packs.
- Partnering with property managers to build and review annual budgets and expenditure forecasts.
- Monitoring cashflow, processing supplier payments, and allocating receipts accurately.
- Investigating and resolving accounting queries from clients, leaseholders, auditors and suppliers.
- Maintaining accurate records, controls and compliance with internal policies and client agreements.
- You balance precision with pragmatism, delivering accurate work at pace and owning outcomes.
- You’re a clear, considerate communicator who can explain financial information simply.
- You enjoy collaborating across teams and building positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- You are organised and resilient, able to prioritise effectively across a varied portfolio.
- You’re curious and improvement-focused, always looking for smarter ways to work.
- Experience in client or property accounting, ideally within residential block management.
- Familiarity with service charge accounting, audits and year-end processes.
- Confidence using accounting/property management systems and Excel for reconciliations and analysis.
- Working with auditors, external stakeholders and multi-site portfolios.
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
