At Ashurst Perkins Coie US LLP, our people are our greatest asset. We’re looking for a collaborative, detail-oriented Client Billing Coordinator to join our team and help deliver an exceptional employee experience.
In this role, under the direction of the Billing Supervisor, you will prepare accurate, timely client invoices while translating attorney instructions into action and ensuring a seamless, efficient billing experience for both internal teams and external clients.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and process accurate prebills and client invoices, including task-based and parent/child billing in Elite 3E, in accordance with attorney direction.
- Manage billing under Alternative Fee Arrangements, including fee deferrals, step discounts, and fee caps.
- Research and generate reports on balances, billing status, revisions, document requests, and accounts payable support.
- Respond to client billing inquiries and partner with attorneys and staff to resolve questions, address concerns, and clarify billing requirements.
- Explain and reinforce timekeeping and billing policies while advising lawyers and legal staff on special billing arrangements and Elite 3E capabilities.
- Maintain consistent attendance and flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet monthly closing requirements and critical client deadlines.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the firm.
- Solid command of accounting and billing practices, with exceptional accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
- Effectively manage high-volume workloads, competing priorities, and time-sensitive requests while delivering quality results.
- Apply sound judgment and common sense to solve problems, follow instructions, and navigate complex variables.
- Accurately calculate rates, percentages, discounts, and other billing figures; type at least 40 WPM and operate a 10-key calculator by touch.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Requires 2 years of related accounting experience and an AA degree or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with standard databases and/or accounting software applications. Elite software experience preferred.
- Professional services accounting experience is preferred and highly valued.

This position may be filled in the following locations. The listed compensation range reflects the typical pay for this role, though it is rare for new hires to receive an offer at the top of the range. Actual compensation may vary depending on experience, skills, market conditions, and internal equity.
Colorado compensation range: $54,970.00 to $79,370.00 annually
Illinois compensation range: $58,010.00 to $83,760.00 annually
Washington state compensation range: $57,980.00 to $83,720.00 annually
Washington, D.C. compensation range: $62,620.00 to $90,420.00 annually
