Scale Suite is on a mission to build the full-stack finance function for growing Australian businesses: daily finance operations, reporting and analysis, and CFO-level strategy, delivered as one embedded team. Finance is the core, and we mould around each client, with complementary HR services and the operational tasks that sit alongside finance. Clients plug us in and get a complete finance function without hiring one.

We are not an accounting practice. No timesheets, no charge-out rates, no partner pyramid. AI is in daily use across the team, deeper automation is around the corner, and an engineering team is coming on board in the near future to build it.

Our clients are doing seriously interesting things. On any given week we might be steadying a SaaS scale-up's cash flow, standing up a consumer brand's US entity, or building the numbers behind a multi-million dollar capital raise. None of that is hypothetical, it is all recent work. And this role exists because the work is already here: new clients land every month and demand is ahead of us.

The founders and directors we work with have almost all been let down before, by people who went quiet when it mattered and never valued their time. What they want is a genuine partner.

That is exactly who we are, and it is who you will be.

The role

More and more of our clients want senior finance attention, the kind that actually understands their business and not just their ledgers. You get under the skin of each client's business model, become someone they trust and deal with directly, and stay close enough to the numbers to keep our standards high as we grow. Expect your first few months to be onboarding-heavy: we have a wave of new clients landing and you will own bringing them across.

What you'll do

• Be a senior finance person our clients work with directly. On the phone, across their questions, keeping things moving.
• Onboard new clients. Bring their whole finance operation across into how we work, whatever systems they are on, and get it humming from day one. This is where precision matters most.
• Own the compliance engine: payroll across awards and entities, payment runs and payables, superannuation, and the BAS and IAS cycle, run properly and lodged on time.
• Make the accounting treatment calls. GST on tricky transactions, revenue recognition, accruals and intercompany: the grey areas where clients need a clear answer.
• Design and reshape finance operations. Hands-on, in the detail, not floating above it.
• Do the bespoke work. Cash flow, budgets, models, and the big moments like a capital raise or an overseas expansion.
• Review the work of a well drilled team of finance and senior finance analysts, keeping the standard high.

Who we're after

• An all-rounder, not a specialist. You can move between cash flow, payroll, a BAS, a budget and a client's finance flow without missing a beat.
• CA or CPA. A BAS or tax agent registration is a plus, not a must.
• Happy in the weeds. We are not after managers who always want to float above the work.
• Solid across Australian compliance: BAS, IAS, GST, PAYG, STP and super, and comfortable across companies, trusts and the usual SME structures.
• Fluent in Xero and systems-minded. You will hit the odd system no one here has touched before, and we embrace that.
• You use AI as a matter of course. You have real agency, you are direct and humble at once, and you have zero time for office politics.

A solid technical foundation matters. Years on the clock do not. The only thing we really care about is competence, paired with judgement and a great attitude.

What this isn't

Not a timesheet factory. Not a narrow seat where you do one thing all day.
