Charles River Laboratories are excited to be recruiting for a Client Manager to join our Client Services Team at our site in High Peak. This is a hybrid role, with expectation to be onsite 2 days a week. There will be additional expectations for external travel to conferences and events both in and outside of the UK. The Client Manager will oversee the UK and EU territory, working to maintain existing client relationships and look to build and foster new relationships with new clients, delivering a high level of customer service throughout. You will utilise a deep understanding of Charles River capabilities and pricing strategies to anticipate, shape and respond to the needs of internal and external stakeholders to deliver a successful outcome. This would suit a scientific professional who has some existing sales experience within life sciences who is looking to expand on their skillset and develop a strong sales career for a global organisation. Job Description What you’ll be doing: • Assist operation in drafting proposals and schedules of work (SOWs) • Qualify bids and scopes of work with clients to ensure appropriate service is provided. • Work with the Legal team to ensure all required legal documents are in place. • Work closely and effectively with the High Peak Client Service team, and the wider CRL Sales/Business Development team to progress opportunities optimally. • Follow up with clients in conjunction with Business Development to ensure that proposals/study plans are complete and answer their needs. • Creatively identify ways to secure open opportunities by working with scientific staff, finance, management, and others. • Deliver external technical presentations on the “Retrogenix” platform and respond to any client queries on its function. • Identify new business opportunities with clients and liaise with appropriate internal staff for follow-up. • When appropriate, prepare sale price estimates for protocols, bid requests, study revisions and additions using site’s suggested selling price. • Review and approve bid and proposal packages within authorized limits. • Assist management in monitoring sale pricing practices to obtain accuracy and relevance to study type, service, and operation processes. • Assist management in making recommendations on desirable proposals based on established financial and operational criteria, as required. • Ensure that scientific staff visiting clients are fully informed about clients’ needs. • Daily management of pipeline data in SalesForce (CRM). • Work with Project Management Office/Finance and Operations to ensure accurate pipeline data are available. • Assist with the organisation of site visits to clients and conferences/events as required. • Co-travel and attend conferences and other events as required (international travel may be required Skills and Experience: • Minimum of a BSc within a relevant Life Sciences discipline. MSc/PhD preferred. • Proven experience of working within the pharmaceutical/biosciences industry either in the labs or similar essential. • Deep understanding of the drug discovery process and biological/medical sciences to hold scientific business discussions with clients and truly understand their needs. • Some demonstrable sales experience in a similar role is preferred; additional training will be provided. • Excellent communication skills, across a variety of mediums: email, phone, Teams. • Strong sales and presentation skills, able to generate and follow up on new leads and convert to clients and who can effectively present key scientific data to clients. • Able to work flexibly, in a deadline orientated work environment. The salary range for the role is £30,000 - £40,000/annum + bonus + benefits. Please note that the salary varies within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
