AI is central to how we work and where we're headed. If you already use it daily, and to help small and medium businesses run better because of it, keep reading.
ABOUT US
About Business Bookkeeping is a Central Coast NSW BAS Agent practice. We've been trusted by small and medium businesses for almost 20 years. Our team blends Australian client managers with a skilled offshore production team in the Philippines. We're growing and building the next stage of the business around AI, automation and better systems—not spreadsheets and guesswork. We believe technology should handle repetitive work so our people can spend more time helping clients make better business decisions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
● Own the client relationship — the friendly, knowledgeable person clients want to talk to.
● Manage your own portfolio of clients, becoming their trusted first point of contact for bookkeeping, compliance and business questions.
● Coordinate closely with our experienced offshore bookkeeping team to keep client files accurate and on time.
● Review completed work, provide guidance where needed, and ensure a consistently high standard of service across your client portfolio.
● Use AI tools day to day: find the shortcut, build the system, make it stick.
● Handle BAS lodgement, payroll oversight, and general bookkeeping advisory as needed.
● Keep across the latest payroll and STP compliance changes — Payday Super, award updates, and the like.
● Help clients understand their numbers and make better decisions because of it.
● Continually identify opportunities to improve workflows through AI, automation and better processes.
● Help bring in new clients through referrals and relationship strength
WHAT YOU BRING
● Registered BAS Agent, with solid bookkeeping and payroll experience.
● 5+ years managing a bookkeeping client portfolio (practice-based or independent)
● Confident in Xero — plus the AI features now built into them.
● Experience with Dext, O365 and Karbon is a major advantage.
● Keeps up with compliance change without needing to be a payroll specialist.
● Outgoing and warm — good with people, in person and on a screen.
● Used to working as part of an experienced remote team spread across two countries
● Actually into AI — you use it, you experiment with it, you want more of it in your work.
● Self-motivated and reliable, working remotely and unsupervised, to a schedule.
● Able to work through school holidays — clients need continuity year-round.
This would also suit someone who's run their own bookkeeping business. Still loves the client relationships and the industry, is done carrying the weight of ownership. Looking for a stable long-term role, working closely with the owner of the business
