Mission of the role:

The mission of this role is to integrate business development, marketing, and medical expertise in a customer-facing capacity, with a focus on advancing the transplant Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement strategy. This role is pivotal in advising, leading, and executing initiatives to build compliant product advocacy among KOLs and other key transplant stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison among cross-functional matrix partners, including Medical, Marketing, Patient Services, and Market Access, ensuring consistent communication aligned with product strategy and messaging.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain long-term business relationships with key decision-makers and influencers, leveraging customer input and insights to drive strategic objectives.
  • Strategic Targeting: Cover a broad geographical area, focusing on strategically targeting transplant centers to maximize impact.
  • Market Adoption: Drive initial market adoption by engaging early adopters and key transplant centers, ensuring successful implementation of strategies to support the product's growth.

This role is essential in fostering strong partnerships with transplant stakeholders, aligning cross-functional efforts, and ensuring the successful execution of strategies to achieve product advocacy and market adoption.

Your day-to-day:

KOL Management and Account Development:

  • Work with Sale leader Marketing and Medical to identify KOLs and Transplant Centers of excellence.
  • You will execute the full sales lifecycle process, discover and identify the needs of prospective clients and perform as a trusted partner to their needs.
  • Build relationships with existing KOLs and develop new key customers for involvement in current and future commercial and medical activities.
  • Create Peer to Peer strategies in coordination with strategic marketing business plans.
  • Collaborate on key initiatives where opportunities align with regard to affiliations with payers, societies, and other transplant advocacy groups.
  • Facilitate product and service education across the spectrum of transplant customers (Surgeons, physicians, coordinators, social workers).
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the transplant network and political underpinnings.
  • Conduct needs assessments with KOLs to assess ongoing intelligence and communicate insights to appropriate Lead.
  • Driver of the transplant marketing messages and patient segmentation via impacts on content, delivery, and execution in coordination with content approval with internal stakeholders, marketing, and patient services teams.
  • Drive initial adoption and testing volume from early adopters and key KOL transplant centers
  • Seek opportunities to repurpose laboratory functionality for partner opportunities within the transplant community.
  • Disseminate KOL insights and intelligence across cross-functional partners to develop new strategies, tactics, training, and customer service efficiency.
  • Inform forecasting processes to align volume expectations across the organization

KOL Tactical Programs:

  • Execute designated marketing projects involving content from KOLs that increase program impact and relevance.
  • Identify and initiate programs/tactics of mutual interest to Insight Molecular Diagnostics and KOLs, as appropriate.
  • Provide recommendations for ongoing refinements to the KOL engagement plan to adapt to changing market conditions.

Conventions and Congresses:

  • Coordinate national/regional conferences and the KOL interactions associated with these conferences.
  • Lead and organize KOL engagements with company leadership and relevant stakeholders at medical conferences and meetings, ensuring follow-up and continuity for next steps.
  • Work with marketing to identify opportunities to partner to promote at sponsored meetings.
  • Pursue opportunities to ensure Insight Molecular Diagnostics is strategically positioned in the transplant market.

Compliance:

  • Liaise closely with legal, regulatory, and compliance to execute brand tactics successfully.
  • Ensure alignment to and ownership of Insight Molecular Diagnostics policies including Code of Conduct and all applicable laws and regulations.

Scientific Knowledge:

  • Seek out information from relevant medical and scientific literature, meetings, symposia, and seminars that differentiate Insight Molecular Diagnostics staff from competition.
  • Remain knowledgeable of the competitive environment and treatment paradigms within transplantation.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Attain sales quota
  • Development, implementation, and execution of effective KOL strategy.
  • Test volume from onboarded sites
  • Maintain and increase customer satisfaction among transplant customers.
  • Create a customer and patient-centric culture that is focused on collaboration, excellence, and personal leadership.
  • Quality of deliverables and effectiveness based on feedback from Insight Molecular Diagnostics leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Advance KOLs along the adoption ladder, targeting repeat usage

What it takes to do this job:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in sales
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time
  • Experience in Transplantation, Immunology, and/or Rare Diseases.
  • Sales background
  • Proven ability to develop productive relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Ability to think creatively and conceptually
  • Ability to develop and execute key strategies
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills and executive presence
  • Ability to prioritize, negotiate, and problem-solve
  • Proven ability to work effectively across a matrixed environment
