We are living through a pivotal moment for reproductive and sexual health—and Hey Jane is uniquely positioned to help.
From day one, we've been committed to providing safe, discreet medication abortion treatment—and have helped more than 100,000 people get the care they need. Today, we offer a range of reproductive and sexual health care services from the comfort and convenience of your phone. Our in-house clinical care team, composed of board certified doctors, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, and patient care advocates, is just a text message away. We’re committed to helping our patients get safe, discreet, judgment-free virtual health care, from a team that truly cares.
Hey Jane is the first and largest virtual medication abortion provider in the US — we've cared for roughly 150,000 patients across 23+ states. As we scale into Medicaid, new states, and new care channels, we're building out Clinical Operations as its own function, and we want someone to own its foundation from the ground up.
As our Clinical Operations Senior Manager, you'll build the roadmap, cadence, and playbooks that let our clinical team scale with confidence. You'll own the quarterly roadmap and OKR tracking for initiatives like clinical expansion, efficiency and automation, and the operational systems that keep a growing clinical team running smoothly.
This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role: you'll partner cross-functionally with clinical, operations, product, and company leadership, with real room to shape how Clinical Operations works as we scale.
You are
5+ years of experience in clinical operations, clinical leadership, healthcare administration, or a related operational role, ideally including some time in a startup or fast-growing environment
A strong operator who can turn ambiguous priorities into a clear, working plan — and keep it on track over time
Comfortable working across scheduling, EHR, and other clinical operations systems, and picking up new tools quickly, including AI and data/analytics tools to help drive decisions
Fluent translating company-level priorities (OKRs, quarterly plans) into a working plan a team can execute against
Value decision boundaries — you know when something is an operational call you make and when it's a clinical call that belongs to someone else
Comfortable owning strategy and structure without owning every execution step personally. You build the playbook, someone else runs it day to day — and you step in when the moment calls for it
A strong cross-functional partner: you'll work closely with Product, clinical leadership, and other experts
Comfortable being the person accountable when something goes wrong — you build the systems that catch problems early, and you step in when they don't
Energized by complexity — we operate across 24+ states, each with its own licensing and coverage constraints, and you're comfortable building structure that holds up across all of them
You will
Roll up your sleeves when the moment asks for it. You are comfortable wearing hats at various levels depending on what the team needs
Own the Clinical Ops quarterly roadmap: translate company and clinical priorities into a plan and make progress visible to others on a predictable cadence
Partner on "scaling the care model" projects and capacity-model support — validating and iterating on the assumptions behind clinic staffing and capacity planning
Build and own the operational escalation playbook — covering on-call, scheduling, and other day-to-day operational fires — executed day to day by the Clinical Operations Specialist
Help design clinical payroll processes as needed (the Specialist owns ongoing review and approval)
Own licensing & credentialing prioritization
Own the SOP library and the audit/review process, and keep cross-team training materials current — teams that do the work author their own SOP content
Coordinate feature launches so clinic-facing changes land with clarity to staff
Partner with Clinic leadership to recruit, hire, and retain strong clinical team members
