We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Research Coordinator to manage the initiation and activation of new clinical trial protocols. This role involves coordinating various aspects of the study process, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and maintaining meticulous research records.
Responsibilities- Verify Scientific Review Board (SRB), Institutional Review Board (IRB), Human Research Oversight Committee (HROC), data collection plans, and finance/contract approvals prior to study activation.
- Coordinate the preparation of study tools, including study binders, medication diaries, eligibility checklists, and flow sheets.
- Develop study tools using software such as Excel® and Word®, and confirm protocol eligibility by reviewing patient charts and medical history.
- Ensure informed consent is obtained and documented, and register consented patients with study sponsors.
- Maintain comprehensive research records for all enrolled patients across various trial sites.
- Collaborate with Research Nurse Clinician (RNC) and physician to grade adverse events and complete Serious/Unexpected Adverse Event (SAE) forms.
- Provide regular study progress reports to tumor study group members and the Principal Investigator.
- Serve as a liaison with study sponsors, manage communication, and schedule monitoring visits and conference calls.
- Ensure compliance with treatment plans and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
- 2-4 years of clinical research coordinator experience.
- Experience in oncology clinical research.
- Proficiency in patient recruitment, screening, enrolling, and consenting.
- Lab processing and handling experience.
- Solid knowledge of computer software programs such as Excel®, Word®, and Access®.
- Bachelors Degree required.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to manage resources effectively.

The position operates within a robust clinical operations team of 40 FTEs, encompassing disease-specific groups such as breast, lung, phase 1, and GI. The environment includes a focus on research administration, quality assurance, informatics, education, and finance. Currently, there are 100 FTEs managing 300 active trials with a goal of 2,500 active subjects. The work is conducted across Newark and seven other sites, with significant enrollment needs in adult and pediatric trials.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newark, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
