Your role
Are you a cloud software developer or data engineer passionate about machine learning, Generative AI, and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)? Do you want to build scalable cloud backends, streaming data pipelines, and AI-driven diagnostic tools that optimize thousands of connected industrial compressors globally?
What does a cloud & data engineer do at Atlas Copco Airpower in Wilrijk? As a cloud & data engineer within our specialized software team, you will bridge software engineering, data engineering, and applied data science. You will build and scale the cloud platform connecting physical machine controllers in the field with intelligent cloud services for fleet monitoring, predictive maintenance, and diagnostic insight.
Your daily flow involves moving fluidly between building streaming telemetry pipelines (Azure Data Explorer, Databricks, Event Hubs) and developing machine learning models for anomaly detection and failure prediction. You deploy ML models to production with drift monitoring, write infrastructure-as-code (Bicep), build backend APIs (C# / Python), and expand agentic AI and RAG architectures for unstructured technical knowledge. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and researchers, you take ideas from early notebook prototypes through CI/CD pipelines into reliable, production-ready services. You will work via our hybrid model at our site in Wilrijk.
To succeed, you will need

You will work in an innovative tech environment at the intersection of IoT, AI, and industrial engineering, supported by a structured onboarding framework (including guidance by a personal godmother/godfather) and global career progress pathways. We offer an interesting compensation and benefits package, including health insurance, paid leave, retirement benefits, and flexible hybrid working arrangements.
At Atlas Copco Group, we encourage all qualified candidates to apply regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic and social origin, religion, philosophy, disability, age, sexual orientation, or identity.
