The Role Day-to-day at Ekco: Operations and support Provide 2nd/3rd line support for customer cloud platforms, resolving incidents, service requests and problems within agreed SLAs Monitor platform health, performance and availability, and respond proactively to alerts Carry out change management in line with ITIL processes, including planning, peer review and implementation of changes Participate in an on-call rota (with additional allowance) Build and delivery Design and deploy cloud infrastructure, including landing zones, networking, identity, compute, storage and PaaS services Deliver migrations from on-premises and other clouds into Azure/AWS Produce clear technical documentation, runbooks and handover materials DevOps and platform engineering Design, build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, including reusable modules, remote state management and workspace/environment strategies across multiple customers Deploy, operate and upgrade Kubernetes clusters (AKS, EKS), including node pool management, networking (CNI, ingress controllers), RBAC and cluster security Build and manage container images and registries (ACR, ECR), including image scanning and lifecycle policies Implement observability across platforms and clusters using Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana or Datadog, with meaningful alerting rather than noise Support customers' development teams with platform guidance, pipeline design and deployment best practice Automation and continuous improvement Identify repetitive operational tasks and automate them using PowerShell, Python, Azure Automation, Logic Apps, Lambda or similar Contribute to our internal automation and tooling, helping standardise how we build and run customer environments Recommend and implement improvements to security posture, resilience and cost efficiency Customer engagement Work directly with customers and internal Technical Account Managers to understand requirements and deliver outcomes Contribute to service reviews and technical roadmap discussions Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the team About you: Essential Solid hands-on experience with Azure production environments Strong Terraform experience Hands-on experience running Kubernetes in production, ideally AKS or EKS Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines Scripting ability in PowerShell, Python and/or Bash Strong understanding of cloud networking and identity (VNets/VPCs, DNS, private endpoints, VPN, ExpressRoute/Direct Connect, Entra ID, IAM) Experience with Docker and container-based application delivery Comfortable supporting live services within ITIL-based processes and SLAs, using tools such as ServiceNow, ConnectWise or Halo Clear communicator, able to work directly with customers and their development teams Desirable Previous MSP or multi-tenant experience Terraform Cloud/Enterprise Serverless (Azure Functions, Lambda) and event-driven architectures Knowledge of backup and DR tooling (Azure Backup, Veeam, AWS Backup) Certifications (desirable, or willingness to achieve) Microsoft: AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-305 HashiCorp Terraform Associate CNCF: CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) or CKAD Benefits / Perks • ☀️ Time Off: 25 days annual leave + public holidays • 🎂 Birthday Leave: One extra day off to celebrate • 💰 Company Pension Scheme • 📞 Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) for wellbeing support • 🏃‍♀️ EkcOlympics: Global team activity challenges • 📚 Unlimited access to Pluralsight for continuous development • 🌱 Real opportunities to grow, including international progression Why Ekco 🏅 Company of the year 2026 Tech Excellence Awards ⭐️ Microsoft’s 2023 Rising Star Security Partner of the Year 🚀 First Irish Microsoft MSP to achieve all four Microsoft Security Specializations 🌈 A culture rooted in diversity, equality, inclusion & belonging 🎉 A commitment to internal mobility and career progression ✨ Flexible, family-friendly working at the heart of our culture 🔐 Proud to be your trusted security-first Managed Service Provider chosen by IT leaders to drive operational efficiency, scale smarter and stay ahead of risk.
