About the role.
We are seeking a hands-on Cloud Engineer to join PURE’s Cloud Architecture team to help design, build, automate, and support cloud-native solutions within our AWS environment.
This role will partner closely with Cloud Architecture, Integrations, Release Engineering, Security, and application development teams to translate cloud architecture and standards into secure, scalable, and repeatable solutions. The Cloud Engineer will focus on Infrastructure as Code, serverless and containerized applications, APIs and integrations, automation, and cloud observability.
The ideal candidate will bring strong AWS engineering experience, along with the ability to work across application code, CI/CD pipelines, APIs, and development frameworks.
What you'll do.
- Design, build, and support cloud-native AWS solutions utilizing services such as Lambda, ECS/Fargate, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, and related technologies.
- Develop, maintain, and automate cloud infrastructure using Terraform, AWS SAM, and CloudFormation.
- Build and support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using GitHub Actions.
- Partner with Integration and application development teams to design and support custom APIs, middleware integrations, serverless applications, containerized workloads, and web applications.
- Develop automation, reusable tooling, and cloud solutions using Python, Node.js, Java, and scripting languages.
- Support Java/Spring Boot applications and workloads running within AWS.
- Implement and troubleshoot OAuth 2.0, IAM, secrets management, and application-to-application authentication.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including RDS, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and RDS Proxy.
- Implement and maintain application and infrastructure observability using CloudWatch, Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry, logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.
- Develop reusable Infrastructure as Code modules, templates, and standardized deployment patterns to improve consistency and efficiency.
- Build and maintain AWS Systems Manager (SSM) Documents and automation workflows.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across application, infrastructure, networking, security, database, and deployment layers.
- Ensure cloud solutions align with established architecture, security, networking, and governance standards.
- Support AWS account provisioning and landing-zone automation using AWS Control Tower and Organizations.
- Evaluate emerging AWS services and technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
What we're looking for.
- Strong hands-on experience designing, building, and supporting solutions within AWS environments.
- Experience with AWS Lambda, ECS/Fargate, API Gateway, and other cloud-native services.
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, particularly with Terraform, along with familiarity with AWS SAM and/or CloudFormation.
- Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions.
- Programming or scripting experience with Python, Node.js, and/or Java.
- Experience developing, integrating, or supporting REST APIs, middleware, and cloud-native applications.
- Understanding of AWS security concepts, including IAM, OAuth 2.0, secrets management, and secure application authentication.
- Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, RDS, and DynamoDB.
- Knowledge of cloud observability practices, including logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues across both application and AWS infrastructure layers.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical teams.
What will make you stand out.
- Java and Spring Boot development experience.
- Experience with Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry, and RDS Proxy.
- Familiarity with AWS Systems Manager (SSM) and SSM Documents.
- Experience with Docker, containerized workloads, and AWS networking.
- Knowledge of AWS Control Tower, Organizations, and Landing Zone architecture.
- Experience with Oracle databases or GraphQL.
- Exposure to Amazon Bedrock, AgentCore, AgentCore Gateway, or other AWS AI services.
- AWS certifications.
