NOTE: This opportunity is full-time employment position only (no 1099 or C2C engagements, or third parties or staffing agencies, please). The candidate MUST be a U.S. Citizen. This is a remote opportunity; candidate must be based in the U.S.; have resided in the U.S. for at least 3 years in the past 5 years; ET time zone work schedule.
Daily Responsibilities
- Support the program’s Cloud Operations and Migration Services (COMS), provide operational input and support for the operations, maintenance, and refinement of the enterprise cloud environment, execution support for migrating new and legacy client applications and services to cloud computing and continuous improvement of the IT infrastructure.
- Support the cloud operations to enhance, optimize, and maintain computing capabilities across the technical landscape.
- Work with system administrators when supporting application teams, work with project teams to Operate & Maintain (O&M) applications on the cloud platform.
- Focus on, and must have expertise with, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) components, resources, services, and tools.
- Provide critical financial governance for a multi-cloud environment.
- Implement cost-tracking dashboards, spending alerts, enforce tagging policies, manage budgets across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Establish and maintain financial governance frameworks for GCP and OCI, ensuring compliance with federal standards like FedRamp HIGH and NIST 800-53.
- Partner with program leadership and engineering teams to ensure complete financial transparency and accountability for all cloud expenditures. ·
- Implement and manage cost-tracking dashboards that provide real-time visibility into spending.
- Proactively identify optimization opportunities to ensure the best value from its cloud investments, all while operating within a highly regulated federal landscape.
- Tagging and policy enforcement of standards for accurate cost allocation, forecasting, and reporting within the federal system.
- Track, budget, and forecast multi-cloud spending.
- Develop unit economics and cost efficiency KPIs.
- Bridge the gap between engineering, finance, and procurement.
- Must of a U.S. Citizen, as mandated by our government client.
- Must possess an active public trust investigation or higher-level federal security clearance.
- 6+ years of experience in cloud financial management, FinOps, or cloud operations.
- 3+ years of experience leading technical teams.
- FinOps Certified Practitioner credentials.
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g. OCI, GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Current or prior experience in government or regulated enterprise environments.
- Direct financial governance and oversight experience for compliance with federal standards (e.g. FedRamp HIGH and NIST).
- Experience developing and implementing technical standards for cloud environments.
- Proven ability to recommend technology strategies and provide technical direction.
- Hands-on experience with GCP and OCI cost-management tools and billing structures.
- Experience implementing cost dashboards using native (GCP, OCI) or third-party tools.
- Strong data analysis skills to interpret cloud cost trends and recommend actions.
- Solid familiarity with cloud tagging, consumption-based billing, and multi-cloud governance.
- Familiarity with cross-cloud security and governance frameworks.
- Experience creating, testing, and maintaining virtual machine images.
- Skilled in creating technical documentation and how-to guides.
- Experience with Kubecost for Kubernetes environments.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to communicate complex analytical insights to executive and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into analytical solutions.
- BS degree in computer science, engineering, accounting/finance, information systems, or technical discipline (10 years additional work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
