We don’t just equip you for work—we prepare you for life The Role As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer in our Cloud Operations Services (COS) department, you own the core infrastructure and data platform behind the ATOSS Cloud Solution, across Azure and T Cloud Public. You administer and maintain services such as Kubernetes, database systems, storage, and network components, including our self-hosted data and identity services, and make sure everything can be backed up, restored, and secured. You work closely with Cloud Architecture, Security, and the other COS engineers. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure & workload operations Plan, build, and operate the Azure and T Cloud Public infrastructure that the ATOSS Cloud Solution runs on, from compute and networking to storage. Administer Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads on top of them. Own Day 2 operations: high availability, patching, and version upgrades across both clouds. Apply your knowledge of T Cloud Public and its OpenStack heritage, alongside Azure's native services, to day-to-day operations and troubleshooting. Data, streaming & identity services Operate Kafka for our event-driven and streaming use cases, including topics, partitions, and Schema Registry. Operate Redis, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server (Azure SQL): sizing, replication, backup, and performance tuning. Run Keycloak for identity and access. Backup, recovery & resilience Own backup and restore across the platform, using Velero for Kubernetes workloads and the native backup services of Azure and T Cloud Public. Investigate performance and stability issues across infrastructure and stateful services, and drive root cause analysis after incidents. Security & cost management Apply TLS/mTLS, RBAC, secrets management, and least-privilege access across the infrastructure and services you own. Keep an eye on cost: right-sizing, autoscaling, and storage or retention guardrails in line with FinOps practices. AI infrastructure Operate the data and vector stores that sit under our AI workloads, and provide the infrastructure capacity that AI services need. Work with the AI and Ops teams to bring new AI use cases into production without compromising reliability or security. Key Requirements Solid hands-on experience operating cloud infrastructure in production, on Azure and/or T Cloud Public. Strong Kubernetes experience, ideally AKS, including stateful workloads. Hands-on experience with several of: Kafka, Keycloak, Redis, PostgreSQL, SQL Server (Azure SQL), Velero. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps experience for provisioning and lifecycle management. Solid understanding of networking and security fundamentals (TLS/certificates, RBAC, secrets management). Strong troubleshooting skills in complex, multi-cloud production environments. Experience with or genuine interest in operating infrastructure for AI workloads. Clear communication and a pragmatic, results-focused mindset. Fluent English; German is a plus. Nice to have / Plus Experience operating workloads on T Cloud Public (or its predecessor Open Telekom Cloud) and familiarity with its OpenStack heritage. Vector database experience (pgvector or similar) for AI and retrieval use cases. Experience with additional hyperscalers such as AWS. Relevant certifications (Azure, CKA/CKAD).
