Vates is a French software company specializing in virtualization, offering a credible alternative to proprietary solutions on the market. Our Vates VMS solution enables companies to manage their IT infrastructures in a simple, efficient, and controlled way.

As a Cloud-Native & Kubernetes Software Developer at Vates, you will play a key role in developing and improving our cloud-native technologies and Kubernetes-based solutions.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain plugins for Terraform, Packer, Pulumi, and other upcoming tools in Go.
• Develop and maintain Kubernetes components, including CSI Driver, CCM, and future integrations.
• Create, design, develop a Kubernetes clusters management product in Vates VMS stack. This is a project already started, in early phase and it should be turned into one or more new products.
• Write specifications for the Xen Orchestra teams to support the development of various Kubernetes integrations.
• Develop and maintain Ansible plugins, leveraging basic Python knowledge (with internal Python experts available for support).
• Work closely with the Xen Orchestra backend team to identify and define API requirements.
• Collaborate directly with users and customers to understand and address their automation needs.
• Provide Level 3 support as well as community support for users of the developed tools.
• Collaborate with the Vates DevOps Tools team (SREs, system administrators, etc.).
  
  

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in Go and Kubernetes (2 years) programming language and related tooling.
• Solid expertise in Kubernetes (deployment, control plane lifecycle management, upgrades, writing CRDs and operators, cluster API, CSI, CCM, etc.).
• Excellent knowledge of Git and GitHub tools and workflows.
• Deep understanding of the open-source ecosystem, with active involvement being a strong plus.
• Strong interest in DevOps practices and process automation.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Knowledge of the virtualization ecosystem.
• Experience in designing global IT architectures.
• Fluent in English and French.

We Are Looking For Someone With

• A Bachelor’s degree to a Master’s degree in Computer Science, or software engineering or information systems and Networks.Or several years of experience without degree.
• A professional experience within an open source environment is appreciated.
• Fluent in English and French.
