Cloud Platform Engineer

We're looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to join us at Telia. I'm John Thorburn , Head of Public Cloud , and I am looking for someone ready to grow with us. We are building the Public Cloud Control Plane that enables secure, automated and governed consumption of AWS, Azure and Google Cloud across the company. Our mission is to make public cloud simple for development teams while ensuring connectivity, security, compliance, financial transparency and operational excellence for the entire organization . To strengthen this mission, we are looking for an engineer who wants to help evolve the platforms that thousands of users and stakeholders rely on every day. What you'll do You will develop the Public Cloud Control Plane and create scalable, self-service capabilities for cloud consumers. Develop and enhance the Public Cloud Control Plane, improving platform reliability, scalability and developer experience. Automate cloud provisioning, security and compliance controls using APIs, Infrastructure as Code and GitOps principles. Create self-service, telemetry, observability and reporting capabilities that support FinOps and SecOps initiatives. Partner with networking, security, architecture and application teams, design integrations with enterprise systems and help define the future of Platform Engineering within Telia. What will help you thrive in this role You think in platforms rather than individual tickets, enjoy solving problems at scale and want to make life easier for other engineers. Cloud engineering: hands-on experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, multi-cloud environments and cloud-native architectures. DevOps and automation: strong knowledge of Terraform, CI/ CD such as GitHub Actions or GitLab, scripting with Python, Go or PowerShell, Infrastructure as Code and platform engineering. Networking: understanding of enterprise and cloud networking, hybrid connectivity, routing and security controls. Security and governance: experience with IAM and federated identity, Policy as Code, cloud security controls and governance automation. Nice to have FinOps experience and an understanding of cloud financial management Experience with developer portals or Internal Developer Platforms Kubernetes or Backstage experience Experience with data visualization and reporting platforms Join us to shape smarter living for people, businesses, and the planet!
