Founding Partner
Quantitative Portfolio Manager
Own a live book. Help build the fund you want to trade in.
Reporting to the CEO, Middle East region | Remote globally | Presence expected across North America and the Middle East
This fund is launching in the Middle East with a regional family investment platform as anchor LP and co-GP. The fund is structured to grow to $500 million through staged closings, with service providers selected and the anchor LP closed. You will work alongside members of the founding team, drawing on more than four years of global fund operating experience to launch and scale a new fund in the region.
Your first responsibility is live capital
Own an AUM sleeve and lead a pod within the broader fund from day one. You are accountable for your pod's strategies, positions and P&L, while other portfolio managers and traders run separate sleeves across the multi-pod platform. Lead your pod from research and strategy design through production deployment, execution and risk. Make and explain the calls when models need intervention: sizing, parameters, overrides and de-risking. The first 8-12 weeks will rigorously assess that ownership within agreed risk limits.
The standard they hire against
A trader who builds. You have personally owned live positions, drawdowns and trading decisions. Digital assets matter; experience in equities, options, FX or other traditional markets is a strong priority.
An engineer with market judgment. You write and review production code, with strong Python expected and Rust or comparable systems-language experience valued. You understand execution, system design and risk infrastructure. Strong quantitative foundations matter; mathematics, statistics, engineering, sciences and ML are preferred.
AI-native is the baseline. LLMs and coding agents already sit inside your research, engineering and daily workflows. Show them how you use current models, tools and agent harnesses, and how you verify their output.
A partner people can rely on. You find the work, commit to deadlines and communicate daily. You can explain a drawdown to the Investment Committee and work through a production issue with the CTO. Prior fund-building experience is a plus.
Build beyond your own book
Alongside your trading mandate, help the CEO underwrite managers, recruit and expand pods, shape shared infrastructure and risk systems, and support investor diligence and capital formation. The remit grows with demonstrated capacity. They want a long-term partner who takes responsibility for the whole business.
Ownership and freedom
The role also includes substantial GP equity comparable to other founding partners. No first-year guarantee or sign-on bonus. Final economics and equity terms remain subject to agreement. Discretionary, performance-based bonuses may also be awarded but are not guaranteed.
Choose where you work and manage your schedule with substantial autonomy. The team operates across multiple hubs in North America and the Middle East, so effective collaboration across time zones and occasional travel are expected. Time away is flexible, provided your pod's positions, risk limits and escalation coverage remain fully managed. There is scope to join the Investment Committee and take on governance responsibilities as the fund grows.
They expect the commitment of someone building their own fund, because you will be.
