Company Description

Two-founder startup in Sydney building software for grid connections in the National Electricity Market. Early stage. We're looking for the 3rd founder: an engineer who has taken real projects through the connection process.

Role Description

Co-Founder (Grid Connections). Sydney hybrid or remote. You are the technical authority on grid connections in the company. The two of us bring software and sales; you bring the engineering. You define what the product has to check to get a large load connected — the studies, the models, the tests — and how it works with the tools engineers already use: PSCAD, PSS®E, PowerFactory. You decide what gets automated and what stays with a human, review everything technical that goes to a customer, and lead the engineer-to-engineer conversations with developers, NSPs and consultancies. As a co-founder you also help set direction, raise money and hire. Equity, plus paid work from the first customer

Qualifications

• Hands-on with PSCAD and PSS®E (PowerFactory a plus): built and tuned models, run the studies, delivered the reports
• Three or more connections taken through NER 5.3 to hold-point or R2 — loads, hybrids or batteries preferred
• Knows what NSPs and AEMO actually accept, and where the negotiation happens
• CPEng or close to it
• Bonus: ERCOT, NERC or Alberta exposure
