coal mining professionals
across the United States. This multi-role opportunity covers surface and/or underground operations, engineering, maintenance, HSE, and production planning functions. These roles are designed for
mid- to senior-level candidates
and provide a pathway toward
Superintendent, Operations Manager, and Site Leadership
roles.
Key Responsibilities
Lead safe, compliant coal production across underground and/or surface operations
Maintain and strengthen
MSHA
compliance programs, inspections, investigations, and corrective actions
Drive daily execution through production planning, crew leadership, equipment utilization, and KPI reporting
Improve equipment availability and reliability (mobile fleet, fixed plant, conveyor systems, prep plant interfaces)
Support ground control, ventilation, and production sequence planning (as applicable)
Oversee contractor management, permitting workflows (role-dependent), and operational readiness
Lead continuous improvement initiatives (cycle time, downtime reduction, cost/ton optimization)
Support capital projects, maintenance shutdowns, and commissioning activities
Develop teams through coaching, SOPs, training, and performance management
Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Safety, or related discipline (or equivalent experience for certain leadership roles)
Typically
5–12+ years
in coal operations, maintenance, planning, or HSE leadership
Strong experience with
MSHA
requirements; underground and/or surface exposure preferred
Familiarity with maintenance systems (CMMS), work management, reliability practices, and reporting tools
Strong communication and leadership in site-based environments; comfortable with shift/rotation work
