Job Description - Coding Spec - Inpatient, $5K Sign on Bonus, Remote, Health Information Management, FT, 08A-4:30P (162511) Our compensation guidelines for internal transfers are as follows: Transfers from one job to the other, where the grades are the same, are considered lateral transfers, and there are no salary increases. Transfers to jobs in lower grades will result in a decrease in pay. Transfers to jobs in a higher pay grade usually results in a promotional increase. No pay action will put the employee above the salary range maximum. Coding Spec - Inpatient, $5K Sign on Bonus, Remote, Health Information Management, FT, 08A-4:30P - 162511 Description Accurately codes Inpatient records for the classification of all diseases, injuries, procedures, and operations using the ICD10CM/PCS coding system. Ensures compliance of coding rules and regulations according to Regulatory Agencies (CMS, OIG). Works as a team to meet departmental goals and AR goals. Abstracts prescribed data elements from the medical records. Qualifications Degrees: High School,Cert,GED,Trn,Exper. Licenses & Certifications: AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist. AHIMA Registered Health Information Technician. Additional Qualifications: If not CCS or RHIT certified upon hire they must obtain within 2 years. Knowledge and thorough understanding of encoder system, Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS), DRG/MSDRGs and National and Local Coverage Determination, NCD and LCD, Policies. Competency in Word and Excel. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, management staff, and physicians.
