Your role

As a Collections and Cash Application - Manager, you will:

• Strategic & Operational Leadership: Lead end-to-end Collections and Cash Applications functions across all payment channels (ACH, wires, checks, lockbox, card); set productivity standards, SLAs, and cash conversion targets.
• Portfolio & Collections Management: Oversee B2B collection strategies, customer risk segmentation, and the escalation/resolution of high-value disputes, unauthorized deductions, and complex short-pays.
• Cash Application Oversight: Direct daily posting, auto-match optimization, unapplied cash reduction, and daily bank-to-ledger reconciliations to ensure audit readiness.
• People & Capacity Planning: Lead, coach, and develop Supervisors and Analysts; manage workforce capacity, staffing models, onboarding, cross-training, and succession planning.
• Controls, Governance & SOX Compliance: Maintain internal accounting controls, ensure strict SOX 404 compliance, enforce corporate credit/collections policies, and lead audit support.
• Analytics, KPIs & Executive Reporting: Establish and report key metrics (DSO, Auto-Match Rate, CEI, Unapplied Cash Aging, Collection Efficiency) to Finance, Treasury, and Accounting leadership.
• Process Optimization & System Transformation: Lead continuous improvement, ERP enhancements, auto-cash rule optimization, and technology rollouts (e.g., HighRadius, GetPaid, Serrala).
• Cross-Functional Executive Partnership: Collaborate with Sales, Billing, Treasury, Accounting, and Customer Support to eliminate upstream billing errors and improve overall cash flow.
  
  

Non-negotiables

What You Need:

• 7+ Years OTC Leadership: Progressive experience in commercial Accounts Receivable, Collections, and Cash Applications, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or direct supervisory role.
• Deep Order-to-Cash Expertise: Expert-level mastery of double-entry accounting, DSO reduction techniques, unapplied cash remediation, and root-cause dispute resolution.
• Enterprise ERP & OTC Systems: Demonstrated experience managing high-volume operations within enterprise platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle Cloud Fusion, NetSuite, MS Dynamics 365) and specialized OTC software.
• SOX & Internal Controls Governance: Strong working knowledge of SOX compliance, financial controls, audit trail requirements, and revenue cycle governance.
• Advanced Financial Analytics: Ability to model portfolio trends, analyze large datasets, build executive dashboards, and translate metrics into actionable cash strategies.
  
  

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Educational Foundation: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's/MBA preferred).
• Advanced OTC Automation: Direct experience implementing AI/ML-driven automated cash application platforms or integrated credit-to-cash suites (e.g., HighRadius, Serrala, Quadient).
• Process Improvement Credentials: Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green or Black Belt).
• Specialized Industry Exposure: Prior experience managing high-volume OTC operations in healthcare, SaaS/technology, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
