Are you passionate about building strong customer relationships while driving cash flow performance and financial excellence? Do you enjoy solving complex challenges, negotiating outcomes, and making a tangible impact on business performance? Then you might be the person we are looking for.
As our new Collections Officer, you will be part of the Finance organization and play an important role in ensuring healthy cash flow, reducing overdue balances, and supporting effective Accounts Receivable management across assigned markets. You will work closely with Sales, Credit Management, Customer Service, and Finance stakeholders to resolve payment challenges, improve collection outcomes, and contribute to a high-performing Quote-to-Cash process. This is a great opportunity to develop your expertise in an international organization while helping shape the future of STG's Finance Operations in Lisbon.
What your day will look like
In this role, you will typically focus on:
- Manage assigned customer portfolios to achieve collection targets and support cash flow optimization.
- Execute and monitor end-to-end collection and dunning activities, ensuring timely follow-up on overdue balances.
- Investigate and resolve complex payment allocation issues, including unapplied and unidentified receipts.
- Collaborate with Sales, Credit Management, and Customer Service teams to resolve disputes, deductions, and payment barriers.
- Analyze Accounts Receivable ageing, identify collection risks, and implement structured action plans to reduce overdue debt.
- Prepare portfolio performance reports and contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational efficiency.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Collections, Credit Management, or a similar Finance function.
- Experience working with SAP S/4HANA; knowledge of FSCM and automated dunning tools is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills with the ability to manage complex customer situations independently.
- A collaborative and proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and continuous improvement.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of French, Dutch, or German is considered a strong advantage.
