Commercial Finance Director

The Role This role oversees a broad remit, providing financial advice, leading strategic planning, and ensuring the finance function supports business growth. They are responsible for developing and implementing commercial strategies, driving revenue, and maximizing profitability. They will also oversee the production of business cases. This role involves a mix of financial management, business partnering, and leadership. Key Responsibilities Form a close working relationship with the CEO, CFO and other Senior Leaders Contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers. Managing the budgeting and forecasting process across areas of responsibility. Leading monthly business review process alongside COO; ensuring the correct balance of challenge and support is provided Recruiting, training, and developing finance team members, ensuring effective team performance. Acting as a strategic partner to drive performance, support growth and lead improvement initiatives across the business Clearly and concisely communicating financial information to stakeholders at all levels. At their best working with non-finance colleagues to drive performance Identifying and mitigating financial risks. Maintaining compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Essential Qualified member of an accountancy body or holder of an equivalent qualification Meet the requirement for a commercially astute, articulate, technically strong, dynamic, insightful and influential leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels. Exceptional communication skills at all levels including reporting and presentation skills Strong IT skills, always being ahead of new technologies Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making.
