Commercial General Liability Claims Representative (Fast Track Property Damage)

Apply Job Type Full-time Description The General Liability Claims Representative directly handles business owner liability claims. This position will require the ability to analyze coverage issues, in addition to routine claim adjusting functions. Additionally, the position will involve drafting coverage letters, evaluating and frequent communication with various parties including attorneys. Strong writing and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as knowledge of standard industry liability forms. Job Responsibilities Manages an active desk of fast-track property damage liability claims under business owner policies Analyzes coverage issues under the Business owners coverage form, garagekeepers, hired non-owned auto, auto services and other standard industry forms Analyzes, investigates, and evaluates new loss notices and claim tenders Adjusts total auto losses as part of adjusting liability claims Expeditiously analyzes and positions claim under applicable coverage Collaborates on setting reserves at appropriate level for claims Uses good judgment in managing ALAE in claims investigation Appropriately documents claim files in accordance with established guidelines Obtains and maintains adjuster licenses, as required Requirements Qualifications Performance Requirements: Strong analytical skills Strong verbal and written communication skills including proper grammar usage and imparting information in a clear and concise manner Strong interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and meet assigned deadlines Promptly responds to inquiries with a sense of urgency Ability to work in a collaborative and cooperative approach Ability to multi-task and effectively deal with interruptions Ability to follow instructions and established procedures Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and internet applications Highly attentive to details Able to work under pressure and execute good judgment in sensitive situations Education: BA/BS degree required CPCU or other industry designation a plus State adjuster license(s) a plus Experience: 3+ years prior general liability claims adjusting experience preferred Experience in bodily injuries claims preferred About Us biBerk is where commercial insurance buyers can obtain coverage for their businesses from insurers of the Berkshire Hathaway group of Insurance Companies, one of the best capitalized insurance groups in the world. In accordance with pay transparency laws and regulations, the following good faith compensation range estimate is being provided. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000 per year. Final compensation will be based on candidate qualifications, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law. This position does not have bonus potential.
