Summary of Role:
The Account Executive/Sr. AE works with Brokers to strategically handle and service client accounts and may have direct account responsibilities. This role will involve day-to-day client interactions while building and maintaining relationships with clients and carrier representatives. The Account Executive helps ensure client needs are addressed promptly and accurately, goals are met, and service standards are achieved. At the direction of the Broker, the Account Executive prepares applications, specifications, strategic analyses, and marketing strategies for new business and assigned client renewals, with appropriate supervision and approval from their supervisor! Title and salary will be commensurate with experience.

This is a full-time remote position with a hybrid option from our Plainview, Long Island office. We will consider remote options for experienced candidates, ideally in the NY tri-state or East Coast, for the ability and feasibility to occasionally travel to client meetings or our designated offices if required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement NFP’s renewal strategy and service model by proactively handling renewal timelines, key milestones, stakeholder responsibilities, and client deliverables to support a consistent, disciplined, and proactive renewal experience.
- Support pre-renewal planning by coordinating renewal strategy discussions, gathering updated exposure information, reviewing loss experience, confirming client objectives, and documenting agreed renewal goals, service priorities, and next steps.
- Partner with Brokers, Placement, Service, Claims, Accounting, and GCC (Global Capabilities Centers) teams to coordinate renewal workflow, maintain visibility around open items, and ensure timely completion of applications, submissions, proposals, binding instructions, policies, endorsements, certificates, billing items, and post-renewal services.
- Assist Brokers in developing go-to-market strategies by identifying renewal objectives, target markets, submission requirements, negotiation priorities, coverage improvement opportunities, and strategies to improve pricing, terms, conditions, limits, and overall program outcomes.
- Support the stewardship process by helping identify year-over-year program changes, service accomplishments, open issues, risk management opportunities, coverage recommendations, and renewal considerations that strengthen client relationships and retention.
- Maintain accurate and current client, policy, exposure, activity, and follow-up information in Epic and other designated workflow tools to support service model accountability, reporting, renewal planning, and E&O prevention.
- Coordinate quality control for renewal and post-binding outputs, including binder and policy review, coverage checklists, certificates of insurance, endorsements, subjectivities, surplus lines documentation, affidavits, due diligence forms, invoicing, finance agreements, and other required deliverables.
- Participate in client visits and/or meetings, as appropriate, to support relationship management, understand client needs, reinforce service priorities, and assist with renewal, stewardship, and ongoing service discussions.
- Mentor colleagues in Account Manager positions and other teammates by providing guidance, sharing technical and service model knowledge, supporting professional development, and reinforcing consistent renewal and client service standards.
- Apply NFP’s Service Model as a source for current renewal processes, tools, resources, templates, timelines, and service standards to support consistent execution for clients, carrier partners, Brokers, GCC, and internal service teams.
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
- Excellent written communication skills – writes clearly; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numeric data effectively; able to read and interpret written information.
- Self-confident to make sound independent decisions along with strong mentorship/leadership skills.
- Ability to successfully interact with a variety of people/personalities. Can collaborate with clients at an executive level.
- Be heavily involved in client-facing discussions throughout the policy lifecycle. Be comfortable presenting findings and recommendations.
- Possess technical expertise plus good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to evaluate client program data, identify trends and risk considerations, and translate analysis into practical recommendations.
- Collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with the internal service teams, brokers, carriers, and clients to support consistent execution and service delivery.
- Ability to handle situations in a calm, friendly and professional manner.
- Strong attention to detail, decision-making skills and problem resolution.
- Minimal travel, but should be able to accommodate travel when required.
- Familiarity with EPIC or other agency management system required.
Education and/or Experience:
- Property & Casualty Broker’s License required upon hire; CPCU or similar designation preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 7+ years of industry experience with a strong background in commercial insurance is ideal. Prior retail brokerage experience required
- Advanced MS Office skills including Excel, Word, Powerpoint. Use tools such as AI, data, graphs, and analytics to support recommendations

The base salary range for this position is $100,000 -125,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
