Commercial Loan Processor (Hybrid/Remote)
ORNL Federal Credit UnionRole: The Commercial Loan Processor supports the commercial lending team by preparing, reviewing, and processing commercial loan files from application through closing. This role ensures loan documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with credit union policy and regulatory requirements, serving as a key link between loan officers, underwriters, and borrowers.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Sets up new commercial loan files and inputs data into the loan origination system (LOS).
- Orders and tracks third-party reports (appraisals, environmental reports, title work, flood certifications, UCC searches, etc.).
- Collects and reviews financial documentation from borrowers (tax returns, financial statements, business licenses, etc.).
- Works with Bankers to prepare loan packages for underwriter review.
- Prepares loan closing packages, including notes, mortgages/deeds of trust, and guaranties, under attorney or closing team direction.
- Coordinates with title companies, attorneys, and appraisers to obtain required closing documents.
- Tracks loan conditions and follows up with borrowers, brokers, and internal staff to clear outstanding items.
- Maintains accurate and organized loan files in compliance with credit union policy and regulatory standards.
- Monitors pipeline reports and communicates status updates to loan officers and management.
- Assists with post-closing file review and boarding of new loans to the servicing system.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years experience in commercial loan processing, loan operations, or a related role. Required
- Minimum 3 years Commercial Bank or Credit Union experience. Required
- Minimum 1 year Familiarity with loan origination systems such as LoanVantage or Silverlake operating systems. Preferred
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required

- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
