What we do: Create ways for our customers to own part of green energy projects.
Why we do it: Greener. Fairer. Future.
We are looking for a Commercial Manager who can help us deliver our mission of enabling our customers to invest into renewable energy projects. Since launching the Collective, we saw huge demand for renewable investments and are now focused on growth of the platform and expanding our product range.
As we scale the Collective, you will be focused on identifying key growth areas and supporting the team to deliver at pace. This will be a varied, hands-on role and while you will use your strategic and commercial skills, you will also be expected to deliver through to implementation.
This will be a 12 month maternity cover contract, where you’ll hit the ground running and be involved in a variety of areas across the Collective.
What you'll do
Driving commercial performance of our platform, by determining key growth opportunities and value drivers. Whether that’s assessment of the pricing model, market sizing or analysis of our investor base, you’ll be responsible for identifying potential opportunities, through to evaluation and recommendation to the business.
Working with key stakeholders to deliver our strategic ambition of growing and diversifying revenue streams through product expansion.
Coordinating with the wider Octopus Energy business to shape and deliver innovative energy products, creating interesting and attractive renewable investments for our member base.
Exploring 'step change' opportunities that deliver value for the platform, ranging from strategic collaboration to co-investment partnerships.
What you'll need
Possibly with a background as a consultant, with experience in commercial advisory or corporate strategy.
Analytically and numerically excellent, ideally with a commercial background and robust financial understanding. Able to balance analytical rigor with sound judgment and pragmatism, you are comfortable moving between detailed analysis and broader strategic thinking.
Comfortable with building models and business cases to evaluate and support growth opportunities.
Confident communicator, ability to present and engage with senior stakeholders. Experience in formal paper writing to prepare business cases for decision makers.
Capable of working in ambiguity, shaping an idea through to development and execution. This is underpinned by a strong understanding of business priorities and informed by stakeholder engagement.
A can-do attitude with a solution-oriented approach and a willingness to get 'stuck in'.
