Main Functions
Negotiate, draft, and finalize commercial retail leases and lease related ancillary documents; review title; and support general real estate matters. The role balances individual and team responsibilities and requires the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Draft, negotiate, and finalize retail leases and lease related ancillary documents.
Work on general real estate matters and assist with management of workflow.
Respond to inquiries and requests for assistance from the field.
Research various retail lease and title issues.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree, paralegal certificate or related field of study, or the equivalent work experience.
A minimum of five (5) years of paralegal experience in the commercial real estate industry.
Knowledge of commercial real estate law, with an
emphasis on retail leasing required.
Experience with the review and analysis of commercial leases, including shopping center and office leases, with strong comprehension, drafting, and negotiation skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills; able to work independently and meet deadlines across multiple tasks in a “collaborative,” “results oriented” environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills (internal & external) and the ability to manage confidential information.
Willingness and ability to learn and adopt new technology, including legal software and AI-enabled tools.
Intermediate-plus level in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
JD Edwards and Salesforce knowledge a plus.
