Are you an experienced underwriter with a real understanding of the agricultural sector, and ready to lead a team?
Our client, a leading Irish insurer, is looking for a Team Leader to join its Commercial Underwriting function. This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll be the technical go-to for your team while helping them grow, hit their targets and deliver a great service to brokers and customers.
What the role involves
- Leading and coaching the agriculture underwriting team to meet company, team and individual objectives
- Being the first port of call for technical referrals, supporting underwriters and key stakeholders on more complex risks
- Making sure business is underwritten to the required standards and that regulatory requirements are met
- Supporting profitability and revenue targets, and using data and analysis to inform underwriting decisions
- Implementing and reporting on underwriting strategy and objectives
- Supporting the Manager in building an engaged, productive team environment
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the business
What we're looking for
- At least 5 years' experience in insurance underwriting
- Solid knowledge of the agricultural/farm sector
- Strong technical underwriting skills
- Coaching skills and a genuine passion for developing others
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing, negotiation and presentation skills
- Strong planning, problem solving and decision making, and the ability to delegate
- Confidence managing multiple stakeholders and building good working relationships, both internally and externally
