We don't simply develop strategies; we work alongside our clients to successfully implement them About The Role Systemex is growing its Commissioning team and hiring Junior, Intermediate, Senior, and Lead Commissioning Engineers for mining and industrial projects across Canada and internationally. From early-career professionals to experienced field engineers and commissioning leaders, successful candidates will support construction completion, commissioning, start-up, performance testing, and operational handover while working with engineering, construction, operations, maintenance, vendors, contractors, and client teams. Senior and Lead candidates may also manage commissioning teams, coordinate execution, and act as the client’s primary commissioning representative. Key Responsibilities Depending on your level of experience and project assignment, responsibilities may include: Support Commissioning Execution Plans, including systemization, turnover planning, strategies, system/subsystem boundaries, and turnover packages. Support Mechanical Completion, Ready for Commissioning, Ready for Start-Up, operational handover, and related construction-to-operations transitions. Coordinate activities with engineering, construction, operations, project controls, vendors, contractors, commissioning specialists, and client representatives. Execute or lead mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation, and process commissioning, including dry/wet commissioning, first product, and production start-up. Perform or oversee inspections, punch lists, testing documentation, turnover records, equipment energization, loop checks, functional testing, interlock testing, and integrated system testing. Troubleshoot issues, support production ramp-up, and identify technical, schedule, safety, and operational risks with mitigation plans. Work with Operational Readiness teams to ensure procedures, training, maintenance plans, spare parts, and required systems are ready before start-up. Prepare daily reports, dashboards, readiness assessments, and lessons learned; Senior and Lead Engineers may supervise multidisciplinary teams and provide technical leadership. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline; P.Eng. is an asset. Experience supporting or leading commissioning, start-up, operational readiness, project turnover, construction completion, system turnover, and operational handover. Experience in mining, mineral processing, manufacturing, energy, or heavy industrial facilities. Experience working with EPC/EPCM firms, owners, contractors, vendors, or equipment suppliers. Strong communication, leadership, teamwork, autonomy, and problem-solving skills, with willingness to travel and work rotations.
