Commissioning Engineer / Technologist (Field Based Position)

The Opportunity We're looking for an Intermediate Commissioning Engineer / Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will test and commission MV/HV power systems, protection & control schemes, and critical electrical infrastructure from construction through energization. If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges, working with advanced testing equipment, and collaborating with experienced commissioning professionals, this role offers meaningful technical work and continuous professional growth. This is a field-based position with travel to project sites across Canada on a 14/7 rotation. What You'll Do Test and commission power system protection & control schemes in the utility, power generation, and oil & gas industry Read and interpret drawings and troubleshoot / resolve technical issues Report preparation and submission Assist with generation of commissioning startup procedures or work instructions Ensure compliance with all safety practices as per corporate, client, and industry standards Initiate and/or respond to customer inquiries, discuss trouble details and confirm resolutions What We're Looking For Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Electrician Journeyman Ticket, or an Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma from a recognized institute 3+ years’ experience in MV and HV Commissioning Ability to work extended rotations and travel to project sites as required Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications Proven analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving abilities Valid driver's license with clean driving record. Background checks and Drug and Alcohol Pre-Access Testing will be required as part of employment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work for any employer in Canada. Salary range: $115,000-$155,000 (excepted yearly earnings may vary).
