Show job description

T.I.S. GmbH is looking for a Commissioning Expert Secondary Systems for the commissioning of two offshore substation platforms in the German Baltic Sea. You work on the owner's side for a German transmission system operator within the OSS sub-project of a grid connection scheme covering platform, export cable, land cable and onshore substation. Your subject is the secondary technology: protection, control, LV cabling and the signal chain between them. You advise the client's commissioning team, witness and run tests on the platforms, and make sure what was installed matches what was specified.

Location: Offshore, from Rostock
Start: End of 2026
Duration: Until 30.09.2027, extension possible
Workload: Rotation based work
Contract: [Freelance]

Your tasks

  • Advise the client on the secondary-systems commissioning of both platforms, from mechanical completion through energisation

  • Review and witness LV cabling and communication wiring for protection and control systems against drawings, schematics and specifications

  • Prepare, run and document signal tests and loop checks between field devices, protection relays, control systems and the substation SCADA

  • Check the integration and testing of secondary components supplied by different contractors, and verify interfaces between them

  • Record deviations, raise punch items and follow them through to close-out with the contractors

  • Verify commissioning documentation, test records and as-built status before handover

  • Report progress, open points and risks to the client's commissioning lead

What you bring

  • Electrical engineering background, as a degree or as equivalent professional experience

  • At least 5 years' experience in integrating and testing components and devices in electrical systems, ideally on offshore platforms

  • Hands-on experience commissioning secondary components and running signal tests

  • Experience with LV cabling and communication wiring for protection and control on offshore substations

  • Working knowledge of DIN VDE, IEC and the relevant offshore codes (DNV)

  • Fit for offshore work and willing to travel in Germany and abroad; valid GWO and offshore medical, or the readiness to obtain them before start

  • German at working level. The client's documentation and communication are in German.

How to apply

Upload your CV with a project reference for each relevant assignment: subject of the contract, period, client and client contact, contract volume, your role and a short description of your activity. The client assesses candidates on these references, so complete references matter more than a long CV.
