At UNICEF Gujarat field office, communication, advocacy and partnership is working with stakeholders to advance child rights priorities and strengthen public, institutional and stakeholder engagement for issues impacting adolescents and young people. These efforts aim to address gaps in visibility, public discourse, policy attention, social mobilization and partnership-building around key programme priorities, including health, nutrition, education, child protection, climate action, gender equality, adolescent participation and youth engagement. The UNICEF Gujarat Field Office in delivering outcomes aligned with the UNICEF Strategic Plan through: • Convening: Engaging key stakeholders and influencers, including government departments, media, legislators, civil society, youth and adolescent platforms, CSR partners, private sector actors, academia, and digital influencers to advance child rights priorities in Gujarat. • Converging: Facilitating programme integration and joint action across relevant government departments, UNICEF programme sections and partners by translating programme evidence, field insights and state priorities into strategic advocacy, communication and partnership initiatives. • Catalyzing: Driving public discourse, policy attention, stakeholder action and resource mobilization, both financial and non-financial, to support priority child rights issues and strengthen visibility, partnerships and advocacy outcomes for children and young people in Gujarat. The UNICEF Gujarat office is looking for consultant who will provide specialized, time-bound technical support to develop and deliver a defined set of communication, advocacy, stakeholder engagement and documentation products that strengthen UNICEF Gujarat's visibility, public discourse, evidence-based advocacy and partnership engagement around identified child rights priorities. Minimum requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Communications, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Relations or another relevant discipline. Work Experience : Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in strategic communication, advocacy, media engagement, development communication, public relations or related areas. Demonstrated experience developing communication and advocacy products for government, development organizations, UN agencies, NGOs or comparable institutions. Experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership development. Experience in developing human-interest stories, social media content and documentation products. Knowledge/Expertise/Skills: Strong knowledge of strategic communication, advocacy, media engagement, social and behaviour change communication, and development communication. Demonstrated skills in stakeholder mapping, partnership analysis, media database development, influencer mapping and CSR/private-sector engagement. Excellent writing, editing, documentation and storytelling skills, including experience preparing human-interest stories, social media content, reports, briefs and advocacy materials. Strong coordination, interpersonal and analytical skills, with the ability to consult multiple stakeholders and deliver quality outputs within agreed timelines. Proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with digital and social media platforms, content planning tools and basic data management. Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Hindi is required. Working knowledge of Gujarati will be an asset, particularly for stakeholder engagement, field documentation and review of state-level communication materials. Desirables: Prior experience working with UNICEF, UN agencies, government departments, development partners or civil society organisations will be an advantage. Experience working in Gujarat or with state-level stakeholders, media networks, youth platforms, CSR partners or private-sector entities is desirable. Experience in developing visually engaging communication products, social media packages, advocacy briefs, campaign materials or knowledge documentation will be an asset.
