We are looking for a ​Communication Support for the Artemis III Mission​ to complete our consultants Workforce Management Service to support the ​ESA Communication, Outreach and Media Relations Department​ of the European Space Agency (ESA) at their location in ​Frascati, Italy​. The successful candidate shall act as the Mission Communication Coordinator and principal point of contact for the mission, ensuring coordination between the astronaut, ESA communication offices, HRE stakeholders, national partners, media stakeholders and relevant internal and external parties. Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at the interview stage). The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: Mission Communication Planning: Develop, maintain and update the Artemis III Mission Communication Plan; Define mission communication objectives, audiences, key messages and communication priorities; Coordinate mission communication planning across all mission phases; Maintain and update the integrated communication calendar. Astronaut Communication Coordination: Act as ESA's primary communications point of contact for the astronaut; Coordinate all communication requests requiring astronaut participation; Prioritise communication activities based on operational constraints and mission priorities; Coordinate reviews and approvals of messaging, public statements, scripts and communication products involving the astronaut. Media Relations Coordination: Coordinate astronaut interview opportunities; Support media planning and prioritization; Coordinate mission-related press conferences and media events; Manage communication aspects of major mission milestones. Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate communication activities between: ESA Headquarters; EAC; HRE stakeholders; National space agencies (specifically ASI in this case); Communication service providers; Media relations teams; Internal communication teams. Mission Event Coordination: Coordinate communication planning for: Launch; Major mission milestones; In-flight communication events; Institutional visits; Public engagement activities; Landing and post-flight activities. Please ensure that your CV clearly explains how you meet the mandatory requirements . If it doesn’t align completely with the essential criteria, it could result in rejection. BSc or MSc in communication, marketing, media related disciplines; At least 7 years of relevant work experience; At least 5 years of hands-on experience running social media and creating digital content for an organisation with a significant public presence, preferably in the space field; At least 5 years of experience using video, audio, and other multimedia elements on social media; Experience with photo and video editing tools, such as Adobe PhotoShop, Final Cut, or Adobe Premiere, as well as social-only tools for GIFs, etc; Experience in an intergovernmental institution; A good knowledge of the Italian media landscape; Strong communication and editing skills with a flair for storytelling; Understanding of what it takes to execute social media strategy within the wider framework of a corporate communications strategy; High proficiency with modern electronics office automation tools, in particular Microsoft Office suite and electronic mailing; Ability to communicate with industry counterparts in the execution of the project-specific tasks; Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines, as part of a social media team; Capacity to identify priority actions and handle high workloads; Easy contact with personnel and well-balanced autonomy in the execution of the requested tasks; High level of flexibility as well as initiative and team spirit; Rigor, commitment, and reliability in the execution of the assigned tasks; Familiarity with ESA working environment in a similar position is a distinct advantage; Experience in the use of AI, specifically Copilot, is considered an asset; Fluency in English, both written and spoken; Fluency in Italian, both written and spoken; Knowledge of another official ESA language is an asset; Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU.
