Job Description Ameriprise Financial is looking to add a Communications Specialist to the team! This position assists in the planning and execution of communications, with a primary focus on writing and editing. This position will provide general communication support for the Internal Communication department, supporting enterprise-wide communications initiatives, complete writing assignments and coordinate the editing/distribution of communications to employees and field members. Collaborate with business partners and communication consultants to develop and implement communications plans. Key Responsibilities Write, edit and coordinate compelling, relevant and timely communications to employees, field members and other audiences, ensuring alignment with key messages and overall communication plan. Draft and execute communications plans based on business objectives and input from subject matter experts and business leaders. Ensure consistency of messages across communications channels. Review and update online content regularly to ensure it is current and relevant. Work with business partners, project teams, and other stakeholders to understand their objectives and develop appropriate content. Coordinate plans with other key business initiatives. Drive business priorities by crafting engaging communications that are clear and concise, on-message, consistent in tone and align with internal communications styles/standards. Assist to broader projects across the Communications team. Provide support and expertise with ad hoc communications requests to help address unforeseen issues and opportunities. Required Qualifications Associate degree or equivalent (2-years) required Minimum of one year of professional experience in communications. Excellent writing and editing skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines. Proactive approach and creative problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as an effective team member. High proficiency in Word and PowerPoint Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent (4-years) in communications, journalism, English or equivalent related work experience Self-motivated to seek out additional projects In-Office Collaboration We are a client-centric, relationship-based business. Base Pay Salary The estimated base salary for this role is $62,300 - $85,700/year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
