  • Package includes salary $116,981 - $129,492 plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
  • Two temporary Full-time roles available to 30 June 2028
  • NSW Office locations are flexible; hybrid working is available

About the Role

National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for Community Engagement Officers to work as part a dynamic team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, and Aboriginal and built heritage. 

The role facilitates crucial decision-making processes and provides opportunities for the public and stakeholders to engage with NPWS. 

You will need flexibility and a variety of skills, as the team works across the state on a wide breadth of issues. We work in close collaboration with operations and programs colleagues, providing strategic advice, risk management and communication plans. 

Community Engagement Officers are responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing and reviewing diverse community and stakeholder engagement strategies, projects, and programs to promote awareness, understanding and appreciation of national parks.

 

About You

You will be responsible for the development and implementation of community engagement strategies, tools and approaches to deliver priority regional and state-wide engagement, including for plans of management, behaviour change, reputational risk, interpretation, workshops and facilitation, and communication across all media platforms. You will be responsible using a variety of tools for project management, CRMs, reporting and evaluation.

 

Essential Requirements

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant working experience in a related industry.
