Compliance Consultant – Part-Time | Remote | Self-Employed / Limited Company

Sabi Consulting - About Us

Sabi Consulting is a specialist consultancy providing practical, tailored compliance and management system support to businesses across a range of industries.

We recognise that every client is different. Our approach ranges from providing occasional specialist advice to taking full responsibility for managing and maintaining compliance systems, working as an extension of our clients' teams.

Our expertise covers a broad range of standards and frameworks, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, ISO 22301, ISO 20000-1 and Cyber Essentials, alongside wider regulatory compliance, risk management and governance.

We support clients throughout the entire management system lifecycle, from initial implementation and certification through to ongoing maintenance, internal audits and continuous improvement.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Compliance Consultant to work with us on a part-time, remote, subcontractor basis.

This is a subcontracting opportunity, not an employed position. Applicants must be self-employed (sole traders) or operate through their own limited company and be able to invoice for their services.

This is a varied, client-facing role suited to someone who enjoys working independently, building strong client relationships and delivering practical compliance solutions that add genuine value.

You will work with a range of clients, providing both advisory and hands-on support, with responsibilities varying according to their individual needs.

Key responsibilities include:

- Developing, implementing and maintaining ISO management systems and compliance frameworks.
- Conducting gap analyses, risk assessments and internal audits.
- Preparing and reviewing policies, procedures, legal registers and other management system documentation.
- Supporting clients with external certification and surveillance audits.
- Identifying non-conformities, recommending corrective actions and supporting continual improvement.
- Advising clients on regulatory requirements, compliance risks and practical solutions.
- Engaging with client management teams and employees to strengthen compliance awareness and organisational culture.
- Managing multiple client assignments, maintaining accurate records and meeting agreed deadlines.

About You

We are particularly interested in candidates who have practical experience of implementing, auditing or managing ISO management systems, ideally gained within a consultancy or multi-site business environment.

Essential skills and experience:

- Demonstrable experience in compliance management, management systems or a closely related discipline.
- A sound understanding of ISO standards and their practical application.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks and recommend proportionate solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex requirements into clear, practical guidance.
- Confidence working directly with clients and stakeholders at different organisational levels.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a remote environment.

Desirable experience and qualifications:

- Experience with one or more of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, ISO 22301 or ISO 20000-1.
- Internal or Lead Auditor qualifications.
- Experience of supporting multiple organisations or clients.
- Relevant professional qualifications or a degree in compliance, risk management, quality, environmental management, health and safety, information security or a related discipline.

Why Work With Sabi Consulting?

You'll have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of clients, industries and compliance disciplines within a specialist consultancy.

We value practical experience, sound judgement and the ability to develop solutions that work in the real world, rather than simply producing documentation to satisfy an audit.

We're looking for someone who can take ownership of their work, build trusted client relationships and contribute to the continued development of our consultancy.

Interested?

We'd welcome applications from experienced, self-employed compliance professionals and consultants operating through their own limited companies who are looking for varied, part-time subcontracting opportunities.
