Compliance Lead

As BoardPro’s first Compliance Lead, you’ll build on the work already underway, helping transition BoardPro from largely manual compliance processes to a mature, scalable governance and compliance capability. About the role: Reporting to our Chief Technology Officer, you’ll lead the development of BoardPro’s governance, risk and compliance capability. You’ll partner across the business to strengthen and mature practical governance and compliance processes, ensuring they become part of how we work every day. You will also support BoardPro’s journey towards key initiatives including CSA STAR Level 1, and help establish the governance and controls required for future ISO 27001 and SOC 2 readiness. This role offers plenty of variety, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery as you shape a function that will have a lasting impact across the organisation. Being part time, this role also offers flexibility through our hybrid working model. What You’ll Be Doing: Lead and coordinate BoardPro’s governance, risk and compliance programme. Develop and maintain compliance policies, registers, controls and evidence repositories. Coordinator certification activities including CSA STAR Level 1 and support future ISO27001 and SOC 2 readiness. Act as the primary contact for external audits and certification assessments. Partner with leaders across Engineering, Product, Customer Success and People & Culture to implement compliance into everyday business operations. Monitor organisational risks, compliance obligations and remediation activities. Implement and continually improve compliance systems, reporting and dashboards. Identify opportunities to leverage technology and AI to simplify compliance activities and reduce manual effort. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen governance while keeping compliance practical and scalable. What You’ll Bring: Experience in compliance, governance, risk, information security or similar operational role. Experience supporting certification or assurance frameworks such as CSA STAR, ISO 27001, SOC 2 or similar. Strong understanding of governance frameworks, policy management and operational controls. Experience coordinating audits and managing evidence for certification activities. Excellent stakeholder management and project coordination skills. Outstanding written communication and documentation abilities. A highly organised approach with exceptional attention to detail. Experience working within a SaaS or technology environment. Confidence using compliance platforms and modern technology to improve efficiency. A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to work independently in a fast-paces, scaling business.
