About the Role

We're looking for a Compliance Officer who understands compliance from the inside not just the rules, but how to build and maintain the systems that make them work in practice.

You'll work closely with our product, engineering, and client success teams to ensure DuckCheck and the platforms we serve stay ahead of regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do

• Manage and continuously improve DuckCheck's internal compliance framework

• Monitor regulatory developments across key markets such as CBN, NDPR, FATF, and beyond

• Support clients with compliance implementation, onboarding, and advisory

• Conduct risk assessments, KYC/AML reviews, and ensure audit readiness at all times

• Produce compliance reports, policies, and client-facing documentation

• Work with the product and engineering team to align platform features with evolving regulatory standards

• Identify compliance gaps proactively and recommend practical solutions

What We're Looking For

• 3–5 years of hands-on compliance experience in fintech, banking, payment services, or a regulated financial environment

• Strong working knowledge of AML, KYC, KYB, and transaction monitoring frameworks

• Solid understanding of CBN regulations, NDPR, and Nigerian compliance requirements

• Experience with FATF standards and international AML/CFT frameworks is a plus

• Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-moving startup

• Excellent written communication; you'll be producing reports, policies, and documentation regularly

• Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, operational actions
