The Role BJAK builds technology products used by millions of users across Southeast Asia. doit Holdings is our regulated investment platform in Malaysia, applying to the Securities Commission for registration as a Recognized Market Operator running an e-Services Platform. The Compliance Officer owns compliance for that platform, from the registration application through to the monitoring that keeps it supervisable once live. You will report to the Chief Executive of doit Holdings, with an administrative reporting line to Bjak's Head of Risk and Compliance. What You'll Own Building and running the compliance framework: the monitoring plan, the registers, and the breach and corrective action process. Owning the risk and compliance content of the registration application, including the operational and compliance manuals. Supporting the independent validation of controls covering risk, compliance and anti-money laundering, through to completion. Maintaining the platform rulebook and running amendments through the SC's review routes. Ensuring the anti-money laundering monitoring allocation is recorded in every partner agreement, and that the partner's monitoring is evidenced rather than assumed. Owning conflicts of interest, anti-corruption and whistleblowing, and complaints. Owning reporting and regulatory notifications: the annual compliance report, audited accounts, the periodic compliance audit tabled to the board, and every key person, breach and shareholder notification within its deadline. Reviewing onboarding flows, product additions, disclosures and marketing before they ship, and running compliance training across the team. What We're Looking For A degree or professional qualification from an institution recognised by the government of Malaysia. 5+ years of relevant experience in the financial industry, including 3 in a compliance, regulatory or risk role at an SC-licensed or SC-registered entity, or at a BNM-regulated institution. At least 2 of those years in capital markets. Command of the SC's Guidelines on Recognized Markets, the SC's AML/CFT Guidelines and AMLA 2001, and the Guidelines on Conduct and on Corporate Governance for Capital Market Intermediaries. Able to meet the SC's fit and proper criteria. Nice to have SC Licensing Examination Module 11, the International Compliance Association Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance, or CAMS. Experience of a Recognized Market Operator registration, or of an SC supervisory review. Experience of online distribution and multi-partner fund distribution models. Location This is a hybrid role. You are expected to work from our local office at least 3 days per week, with the remaining days offering flexibility to work remotely. Candidates should be based in, or able to work from, the location where the role is advertised. Language English is our main working language across global teams.
