The Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of compliance policies and procedures. In this part-time, fully remote role, you will help assess regulatory requirements, review internal processes, maintain compliance records, and identify potential risks across business operations.

The ideal candidate combines analytical thinking with sound professional judgment and clear communication skills. You should be comfortable reviewing documentation, coordinating with different departments, and promoting a culture of ethical conduct and regulatory responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor relevant laws, regulations, industry guidance, and internal compliance requirements.
• Support the development, review, and implementation of compliance policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine compliance checks, risk assessments, and internal control reviews.
• Maintain accurate compliance records, registers, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Identify potential policy breaches, control weaknesses, and areas requiring corrective action.
• Coordinate with internal teams to investigate compliance concerns and track remediation activities.
• Assist with internal audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance reporting.
• Support employee awareness initiatives and communicate updates on compliance practices.
• Help maintain appropriate controls for confidential information, data protection, and record retention.
• Recommend improvements to compliance monitoring and reporting workflows.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Law, Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in compliance, risk management, internal controls, audit, or regulatory affairs is preferred.
• Understanding of compliance frameworks, risk assessment, policy implementation, and control monitoring.
• Strong research, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High standards of integrity, confidentiality, attention to detail, and professional judgment.
• Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance systems is an advantage.
• Experience preparing compliance reports and coordinating cross-functional activities is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote environment.
