Company Description

Lynqo is an Antwerp-based healthtech startup building computer vision technology that understands what happens in the operating room. Our platform turns surgical activity into reliable information, supporting instrument counting, automating registration and providing insight into procedure progress. Our ambition is to make surgery safer and more efficient, reduce pressure on clinical teams and help hospitals make better use of their ORs.

We work closely with Belgian and Dutch hospitals, developing and testing our technology alongside surgical teams under strict reliability and privacy requirements. As our team grows, we’re looking for a Computer Vision Engineer to take ownership of core vision components and help bring robust systems into clinical practice.

Role summary

Operating rooms are visually complex, dynamic environments. This role sits at the intersection of raw camera data, computer vision models and clinical workflows, turning challenging visual input into robust, deployable perception that works in real surgical settings.

  • Full-time employee role
  • Close collaboration with our CTO, engineering team and hospital partners
  • High ownership from model design to deployment
  • Regular visits to partner hospitals for observation, testing and validation
  • Flexible working setup: Antwerp office and remote

Your mission ahead

Perception & tracking

  • Develop and optimise detection, segmentation and tracking models for complex OR environments
  • Improve accuracy under challenging conditions, including occlusions, partial visibility and dynamic scenes
  • Build reliable vision pipelines that work consistently across procedures and hospital settings

Training & model quality

  • Build reproducible training and evaluation pipelines
  • Develop visual recognition methods for challenging objects
  • Analyse failure modes and improve model accuracy across procedures and hospital environments

Edge deployment & robustness

  • Optimise and deploy vision components on edge devices
  • Balance accuracy, latency and robustness under real-world constraints
  • Monitor and validate model performance in deployed systems

Clinical validation & integration

  • Observe procedures and test directly in partner hospitals
  • Translate practical observations into improvements to models and pipelines
  • Collaborate with our team to improve overall system accuracy and reliability
  • Integrate vision components cleanly into the broader Lynqo platform

This role is a great fit if you have …

  • 2+ years of professional experience in computer vision, applied machine learning or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong proficiency in Python and common computer vision frameworks, such as PyTorch and OpenCV
  • Hands-on experience building and evaluating computer vision models and pipelines
  • Experience working with detection, segmentation, tracking or visual recognition systems
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and Docker-based workflows
  • Ability to write clear, structured and maintainable code
  • Experience working with Git and collaborative workflows, including pull requests and issues
  • Clear communication skills and a willingness to work directly with hospital staff
  • Experience deploying and optimising vision models on edge hardware

Nice to have

  • Experience with multi-camera vision
  • Experience with the NVIDIA ecosystem
  • Familiarity with production model monitoring and CI/CD pipelines for ML or vision systems
  • Experience working with privacy-sensitive or regulated environments

Working at Lynqo

We value ownership, curiosity and openness. You’ll join a small but growing team with short feedback loops, where clear communication and reliability matter just as much as technical elegance. You’ll work closely with technical and non-technical colleagues, and your input will shape how the product evolves.

What’s in it for you?

  • Full-time employee role in a mission-driven healthtech startup
  • Direct ownership over key parts of our computer vision and AI stack
  • Competitive salary and additional benefits, aligned with your experience
  • Small team, short feedback loops and high autonomy
  • Flexible working setup: Antwerp office, up to two days remote
  • Building software that’s used in real hospitals
