Configuration Management Team Lead

Configuration Management is pivotal to MBDA’s success in developing and delivering engineered products to our customers and frontline users. Through the controlled application and compliance of processes, we give our programmes confidence and assurance in all products that we produce.

Salary: Circa £67,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 1 day per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Configuration professional with an ability to actively lead the application of Configuration Management processes across MBDA’s prestigious product portfolio. With the ability to build networks and foster strong relationships enabling you to lead your team to deliver outstanding governance of our Configuration Management whilst contributing towards the overall success of our business programmes.

The successful candidate will lead a talented, committed and supportive Configuration Management team. A key part of the role will be developing our people and strengthening configuration capability. You will lead and support your team in building expertise, promote professional standards and create an environment where people can develop.

What we're looking for from you:

• Experienced within a Configuration Management discipline. Knowledge of Configuration Management principles and business application, both nationally and internationally. A technical understanding of complex weapon systems or other defence systems being desirable.
• Strong technical appreciation of engineering business networks and associated stakeholder relationships across the product lifecycle.
• A passion for leading teams and an ability to guide and inspire others to deliver effective Configuration Management, achieving robust solutions and measurable results.
• Able to provide effective day-to-day leadership and people management, supporting team performance, development, engagement and wellbeing.
• Highly developed communication skills with an ability to lead through technical challenges with confidence and assertion.
• Well developed planning and organisation skills to handle multiple work packages.
• Outstanding networking skills with an ability to build and maintain critical stakeholder relationships.
• Proven ability to successfully influence and negotiate at all levels, without compromising relationships.
• Whilst not essential, an operational knowledge of Def Stan 05-57, ISO10007 or EN9100 would be beneficial.
