Position Title: Configuration Manager Location: San Pedro Garza García, N.L. The Role: As Configuration Manager, you establish, maintain, and govern the integrity of the product definition throughout the complete system lifecycle — ensuring that engineering artifacts, product baselines, development releases, and project evidence remain controlled, traceable, reproducible, and auditable. You translate configuration management principles into practical project execution: configuration identification, configuration control, baseline and release governance, change impact management, configuration status accounting, and configuration verification through objective evidence. Operating at the intersection of systems engineering, project planning, release management, quality assurance, functional safety, cybersecurity, and domain engineering, you provide objective visibility into project maturity, delivery readiness, assessment readiness, and engineering execution quality. What You’ll Do (Impact Areas) Own the CM plan & governance: develop and maintain the project Configuration Management Plan — CM strategy, governance model, tailoring, repositories, configuration item structure, baseline strategy, review points, and approval criteria. Define & control configuration items: define and maintain the complete Configuration Item (CI) structure and project CI List across systems, software, electronics, mechanical, test, safety, cybersecurity, quality, project planning, and release documentation. Manage baselines & releases: establish and maintain project baselines (creation, review, approval, freezing, release, reproducibility, documentation); perform release readiness assessments before customer deliveries, development releases, assessment baselines, sample builds, and major reviews; and prevent uncontrolled changes to approved baselines. Support change control: coordinate cross-functional impact analysis for Change Control Boards, ensuring approved changes are documented, implemented, verified, traceable, and reflected consistently across affected baselines and work products. Govern tools & data integrity: govern configuration usage across JAMA, Azure DevOps, SharePoint, SAP, Jira, and related engineering systems, maintaining consistency between approved processes and tool implementations. Report status & maturity: maintain configuration status accounting across all baselines and generate status reports, dashboards, maturity views, and release readiness evidence for project leadership — including leading indicators such as baseline completion, configuration debt, traceability coverage, and assessment readiness. Assess maturity & gate milestones: operate a Configuration Maturity Assessment framework, conduct configuration readiness reviews, and provide objective go/no-go recommendations for milestone approval, postponement, or escalation — verifying that milestone exit criteria reflect actual engineering maturity, not administrative task completion. Enable audits & assessments: support ASPICE, ISO 26262, cybersecurity, quality, and customer assessments by preparing objective audit evidence, supporting corrective actions, and driving baseline integrity and evidence completeness. Drive continuous improvement: improve CM practices, templates, reporting, dashboards, tool usage, and cross-functional execution discipline. What Success Looks Like Controlled, documented, and reproducible project baselines for every defined release and assessment event. Complete traceability from requirements and engineering work products to released product configurations. Zero uncontrolled or undocumented releases, and no unauthorized changes to approved baselines. Configuration maturity assessments completed for all planned milestones, releases, customer deliveries, and assessment baselines, with objective readiness evaluations before each milestone review and release decision. ASPICE, functional safety, cybersecurity, quality, and customer assessments successfully supported through complete baseline and evidence packages. Timely reporting — and early escalation — of configuration maturity, risks, gaps, and readiness issues that could impact schedule, releases, assessments, or customer deliveries. Core Competencies Configuration management discipline: identification, control, baseline management, change control, status accounting, verification, and audit readiness. Systems engineering, release management, requirements management, and project maturity governance. Command of ASPICE, ISO 26262, ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, and ISO/SAE 21434 governance frameworks. Strong ownership mindset, with the discipline to maintain structure, consistency, and follow-through in complex project environments. Leading through influence across global, cross-functional teams without direct line authority. Structured, analytical, systems-oriented thinking — spotting dependencies, inconsistencies, maturity gaps, and release risks. Confident facilitation of reviews, status meetings, baseline discussions, and escalation paths. Pragmatic problem-solving that balances process compliance, execution needs, and customer delivery pressure. What You Bring (Qualifications) Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. Experience: 5+ years in configuration management, systems engineering, release management, quality engineering, or project engineering. Industry context: Experience in automotive, embedded systems, safety-critical product development, or complex systems engineering environments. Standards: Working knowledge of ASPICE and ISO 26262 (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 and ISO/SAE 21434 also relevant). Hands-on CM practice: Proven experience creating or operating configuration management plans, configuration item lists, baseline records, release documentation, and configuration status reporting. Tools: Practical experience with JAMA, Azure DevOps, SharePoint, Jira, SAP/PLM, Git-based repositories, or comparable engineering lifecycle management tools. Language: Excellent written and spoken English. Work Model & Travel Global geographical scope. Professional-level individual contributor role (0 direct reports) that leads through influence across engineering disciplines. Work model and travel per project, assessment, and customer delivery needs. Location: David Alfaro Siqueiros 104, Valle Oriente, San Pedro Garza García, NL. 66269 Hybrid Our Commitment to You Join the global leader in energy storage and become the guardian of product integrity across the full system lifecycle — with the scale, stability, and purpose of a company shaping the future of sustainable transportation. Own configuration integrity on complex, safety-critical battery programs with genuine influence over release and milestone decisions. Grow your systems engineering, governance, and assessment expertise in a culture built on grit, ingenuity, and passion. Contribute to a sustainability mission that recovers, recycles, and reuses up to 99% of battery materials. Join a company recognized as one of 2024’s World’s Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere — for the second consecutive year — with comprehensive benefits and development programs.
