Job Title: Confluence Data Center & Enterprise Platform Administrator
Location: Remote

Role Summary

The Confluence Data Center & Enterprise Platform Administrator is responsible for administering, optimizing, securing, and maintaining the Bureau of Prisons Confluence Data Center cluster. This role ensures high availability, secure access, reliable performance, and compliance with DOJ/BOP security requirements while supporting collaboration across the enterprise.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Administer Confluence Data Center clusters, nodes, shared file systems, and external databases.
• Configure reverse proxies (Apache/Nginx) for SSL termination, routing, and performance optimization.
• Manage indexing, scaling, load balancing, and resource allocation to maintain high availability.
• Implement SSO, LDAP, Active Directory, and other authentication integrations.
• Conduct security audits, apply patches, enforce permission schemes, and maintain compliance with DOJ security policies.
• Develop disaster recovery strategies, backup schedules, snapshots, and failover procedures.
• Manage plugin installation, configuration, compatibility testing, and lifecycle updates.
• Support Confluence migrations, version upgrades, plugin compatibility testing, and data integrity validation.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting, user support, and technical documentation for administrators and endusers.
• Coordinate offpeak maintenance windows to minimize production downtime.
• Deliver reports, dashboards, analytics, and documentation as required by the SOO.

Professional Experience Requirements
• Must have security clearance
• Minimum 5 years administering Confluence Data Center environments.
• Proven experience with clustering, load balancing, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Experience integrating SSO/LDAP/Active Directory and conducting security audits.
• Experience with disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and failover testing.
• Experience managing plugin lifecycle, compatibility testing, and upgrades.
• Experience supporting enterprise or federal collaboration platforms.

Educational Qualifications
• Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Confluence Administrator Certification (preferred).
• Training in enterprise identity management or SSO technologies (preferred).

Other Requirements (from both documents)
• Must be eligible for DOJ/BOP security clearance.
• Must comply with DOJ Order 1700.01, BOP Computer Security Program Statement 1237.13, and RFO 952.2042.
• Must support offpeak work (evenings/weekends) when required.
• Must provide documentation, training materials, and incident/problem resolution records.
• Must support remote administration (80 hours/month) with structured responsiveness.

This is a remote position.

Compensation: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
