Consent Record Review Assistant

Office Administration | Consent Records | Remote | Full-time | 60,840–63,960 per year

A customer's recorded communication choice needs a reliable source. The Consent Record Review Assistant compares assigned online records with the form or message from which a permission was entered, then flags a mismatch for an authorized reviewer. This is a remote records role, not an opportunity to decide what a company is legally allowed to send. You will follow the employer's consent instructions exactly and leave uncertain cases unresolved for review.

Check the source, not the assumption

A checked box, an unchecked box, and an empty field can mean different things. Learn the relevant form and its version before interpreting a record. If the source shows a request to stop a category of messages, do not overwrite it because a more recent purchase appears in the account. If two sources conflict, document both and send the question to the proper owner. Your note should say what you observed, not announce a legal conclusion.

Some reviews may be a defined batch. Work through the assigned list, mark which records were checked, and keep exceptions separate from confirmed matches. A colleague should be able to follow your trail back to the original request. Avoid copying unnecessary personal information into a shared spreadsheet. The role supports customer service by helping teams respect a person's stated choices, and office administration by keeping the record traceable.

A consent record should show the actual wording and response captured by the employer's approved process. If a checkbox is missing, a date is inconsistent or two versions of the form are in circulation, flag the item rather than inferring consent. A customer may later withdraw or change a permission; attach that request to the correct online record and route any interpretation question to the authorised person. Your review is administrative. It does not determine the legal meaning of a response or override a privacy decision.

Core duties

  • Compare selected customer preference fields with the source form or message.
  • Check that the correct person and form version are involved.
  • Note a confirmed match without changing an unrelated setting.
  • Flag an unclear or conflicting permission for specialist review.
  • Make a permitted correction only under the supplied instruction.
  • Keep an online audit trail of reviewed records and exceptions.
  • Protect sensitive contact information within approved systems.

Prior consent or compliance employment is not expected. Customer service and office administration experience can help, but training will cover the employer's forms, terminology, and escalation method. The most important skill is careful comparison without guessing. Someone beginning an office career who can read a source closely and document a discrepancy can be a good fit.

A private home office or equivalent setting is appropriate for customer records. The hiring company will confirm schedule, system access, and training.

What an exception note needs

  • The record field you reviewed.
  • The original form or message used as a source.
  • The apparent difference, stated without a legal conclusion.
  • Whether any change was made within your access.
  • The reviewer or queue that now owns the question.
  • A status that keeps the item visible until reviewed.

A batch may contain several versions of the same form. Before starting, check which version was active when each person submitted it. The same empty field might not have the same significance across versions. If an old record was imported from another system, the source may be unavailable; flag that limitation rather than marking it verified. Your role is to leave a trail that allows a specialist to decide efficiently. It is acceptable for an honest review to produce a list of unresolved items.

A reviewer may ask you to explain why one record was flagged while another was not. Be ready to point to the source and the specific field you compared. The goal is repeatable checking, not an impressive-sounding judgment.

For consideration

An application can describe a time you compared records with an original document and caught a difference. You do not need to present yourself as a privacy specialist. Be precise about what you checked and what you referred to someone else. A further application through the hiring company’s website may be requested from selected candidates. The employer will share the scope of its record review during selection.
