Job Summary Lead safety planning, project-readiness, compliance, and construction support for data center projects and other complex, high-profile customer sites. Partner with Sales, Estimating, Project Management, Construction Operations, general contractors, and customers to identify project-specific safety obligations, costs, schedules, and access requirements before contract execution and mobilization. Own the timely completion and ongoing maintenance of customer safety submissions, contractor prequalification systems, employee onboarding records, certifications, and site-access platforms so changing construction teams can mobilize without avoidable delays. Maintain a visible jobsite presence, evaluate construction conditions, coach project teams, coordinate specialized resources, and respond promptly to customer findings and corrective-action requests. Success is measured by safe execution, complete and timely project readiness, uninterrupted site access, responsive closure of findings, reduced unplanned safety costs, and strong customer and general contractor relationships. Objectives and Key Outcomes Review project-specific safety requirements during pursuit, estimating, and contract review; identify scope, resource, training, PPE, inspection, documentation, and dedicated-coverage costs before commitments are finalized. Develop and maintain project safety plans, job hazard analyses (JHAs), programs, pre-mobilization packages, and supporting documentation that meet Fabcon, customer, general contractor, and regulatory requirements. Administer project-required drug testing and coordinate nondisclosure agreements, background checks, site-clearance requirements, and pre-access training for assigned construction personnel. Manage contractor prequalification platforms, including Avetta, ISNetworld, and similar systems, and keep company, program, incident-rate, insurance, and project records current throughout the work. Manage employee enrollment and credential verification in project and safety platforms such as HammerTech and Procore, including rapid roster changes, local hires, training records, and certifications needed for uninterrupted site access. Coordinate specialized third-party qualifications and training beyond Fabcon's standard requirements, including NCCCO rigging qualifications, customer-required OSHA 10- and 30-hour renewals, site-specific fall protection, fire watch, emergency response, and state- or locality-specific programs. Coordinate welding certifications and maintain accurate welder continuity logs in accordance with contract and project requirements. Schedule contractually required third-party rigging inspections, maintain inspection records, communicate results, and coordinate timely correction of identified deficiencies. Participate in onsite preplanning meetings, customer presentations, recurring project safety meetings, jobsite assessments, incident investigations, and construction coaching activities. Source and coordinate qualified third-party safety professionals when dedicated onsite coverage is required; confirm scope, credentials, scheduling, performance, and documentation. Respond promptly to customer and general contractor concerns, inspection findings, and corrective-action requests; track items through verified closure and communicate trends to project and EHS leadership. Build reusable project-readiness tools, dashboards, checklists, and lessons learned that improve submission quality, shorten onboarding lead time, increase construction presence, and reduce compliance and operational risk across future data center work. Competencies Customer Focus: Builds strong customer relationships and delivers responsive, customer-centered safety solutions. Plans and Aligns: Prioritizes complex preconstruction, mobilization, access, and construction-support activities to meet project commitments. Manages Complexity: Makes sense of extensive and sometimes conflicting contract, customer, regulatory, and operational requirements. Ensures Accountability: Establishes clear ownership and follows requirements, findings, certifications, and corrective actions through completion. Collaborates: Builds effective partnerships across EHS, Sales, Project Management, Construction Operations, customers, general contractors, and vendors. Communicates Effectively: Delivers clear written submissions, training, presentations, and construction communications for varied audiences. Action Oriented: Responds with urgency to changing rosters, access issues, customer concerns, and emerging construction risks. Situational Adaptability: Adjusts approach and priorities as project conditions, staffing, customer expectations, and schedules change. Instills Trust: Handles sensitive information and represents Fabcon with integrity, preparation, consistency, and sound judgment. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Required Relevant experience supporting construction safety, construction operations, or complex project compliance, with the ability to work independently across office and jobsite environments. Working knowledge of construction safety practices, hazard recognition and control, incident investigation, emergency protocols, and applicable OSHA requirements. Demonstrated ability to interpret contracts, customer standards, and project specifications and translate them into actionable plans, documentation, training, and cost considerations. Strong project coordination and recordkeeping skills, including the ability to maintain accurate employee, training, inspection, certification, and corrective-action records amid frequent roster and schedule changes. Strong written, verbal, presentation, training, and relationship-management skills; able to communicate credibly with craft employees, construction leaders, project teams, customers, and general contractors. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn and administer web-based contractor, project management, credentialing, and safety systems. Sound judgment, analytical problem-solving ability, attention to detail, urgency, and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information. Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to active jobsites, including overnight travel as project needs require. Preferred Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, safety management, construction management, or a related Construction; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, large-scale commercial, industrial, or other high-visibility construction projects. Experience with Avetta, ISNetworld, HammerTech, Procore, or comparable contractor prequalification, project management, and site-access platforms. OSHA 30-hour Construction certification; CHST, CSP, or another recognized safety credential is beneficial. Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC) certification desired. OSHA 510 - Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry desired. Familiarity with crane and rigging operations, NCCCO qualifications, welding certification documentation, welder continuity records, and third-party inspection coordination. Working Conditions Based from Fabcon's Columbus, Ohio construction office, with frequent in-person support at active data center and other assigned construction sites. Regular travel is required and may include overnight stays; project schedules may require early mornings, evenings, weekends, or response outside normal business hours. Construction work occurs in active construction environments and in varying weather conditions, with exposure to dirt, dust, noise, heavy equipment, vehicles, uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and changing site conditions; required PPE must be worn. Must be able to move safely throughout jobsites, maintain spatial awareness around equipment and operations, climb onto a flatbed trailer when needed, and lift or move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Office duties require extended computer use, document review, platform administration, virtual meetings, and management of time-sensitive records and communications.
