Job Description
As a Consultant in our Global Trade Management team, you'll help customers around the world put Thomson Reuters global trade software to work — configuring the solution, testing it, and guiding the people who will use it every day. You'll work on projects that touch how goods move across borders, learning the detail of classification, import and export compliance and screening as you go. You'll be supported by experienced consultants and work closely with our development, support and sales teams, with plenty of room to grow your expertise and take on more ownership over time.
Key Responsibilities
In this opportunity as a Consultant, Global Trade Management, you will:
- Deliver Customer Projects: Work as part of a project team to implement our global trade software, taking responsibility for your own deliverables and meeting the milestones agreed with the customer.
- Configure the Solution: Set up and configure the product to match the customer's trade compliance processes, working from the requirements and design agreed with the project lead.
- Gather and Document Requirements: Take part in workshops with customers, capture what they need clearly, and turn it into documentation the project team can build from.
- Test and Validate: Prepare and run test scripts, support user acceptance testing, and work through defects to resolution before go-live.
- Learn Our Products Quickly: Build working knowledge of our global trade solutions and the implementation lifecycle, and apply it hands-on from your first project.
- Train Customers: Show users how the product works and how to get real value from it, answering their questions with patience and clarity.
- Support Customers Through Go-Live: Help resolve issues during implementation and the period immediately after launch, escalating to senior colleagues when something needs deeper expertise.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with colleagues in development, support, presales, propositions and sales, and share what you learn from customers.
- Build Strong Relationships: Maintain regular, positive contact with customer teams and deliver service that reflects our commitment to timely, quality solutions.
- Travel Where Needed: Visit customer sites for implementation work and product demonstrations as projects require.
Required Qualifications
You are an ideal fit for the Consultant, Global Trade Management role if your experience includes:
- 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in global trade, trade compliance, or implementing business software for customers.
- Hands-on involvement in at least one full implementation project, from requirements through to go-live.
- Working knowledge of one or more of the following areas: product classification, import and export compliance, supply chain compliance, free trade agreements, export control, and denied or restricted party screening.
- A bachelor's degree from a reputed university.
- A good understanding of how implementation projects run, including the stages of the software development lifecycle.
- Competence with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for working with customer data.
- Hands-on problem solver with clear communication, analytical and presentation skills, and a positive learning attitude.
- Professional working proficiency in English, and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as projects require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of SQL, or a willingness to learn it on the job.
- Exposure to large enterprise systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Coding experience — welcome, but not a requirement for this role.
- A professional certification in trade, customs or supply chain.
- Additional regional language skills alongside English.
- Familiarity with using artificial intelligence capabilities to speed up analysis or day-to-day delivery work.
