About the role Avalere Health is seeking a Consultant with experience in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), real world evidence (RWE) generation, and/or real-world data analytics to join our Evidence & Strategy practice. You will manage and conduct RWE and HEOR studies, provide research support (including development of study protocol, technical reports, statistical analysis plans, manuscripts, abstracts, etc.), interpret quantitative and qualitative study results and convey the results in lay English to a variety of audiences. A background in healthcare research consulting is preferred. Avalere’s Evidence & Strategy practice provides exceptional consultation, evidence, and insights on key aspects of healthcare – including patient-centric HEOR, US real world evidence (RWE) studies leveraging claims, EHR, and other data sources, data optimization, quality, shared decision-making, value-based care, and health equity – and to shape strategy for our clients. Our mission is to improve quality of care, craft data-driven strategies, drive patient-centric outcomes, and ultimately provide the highest value to all our partners, including life sciences companies, payers, providers, and patient advocates. Our work is focused in 3 intersecting strategic pillars: Patient-Centric Value, Evidence & Analytics, and Healthcare Strategy. What you'll do Apply statistical, epidemiological, and/or econometric expertise to research and client deliverables Collaborate with programmers, statisticians, and other researchers to analyze large US healthcare datasets (e.g., patient or claims data) to uncover insights and inform strategy Create compelling, client-ready presentations and reports that tell a clear and engaging story Contribute to scientific publications, conference materials, and thought leadership Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients Take ownership of multiple project workstreams, managing budgets, timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication with minimal oversight Lead and contribute to client meetings, presenting deliverables and shaping next steps Support day-to-day client engagement, helping to manage expectations and deliver high-quality outcomes Support business development through proposals, contributing to scopes of work, and identifying opportunities for growth within client accounts Provide guidance and mentorship to support the development of junior team members Develop subject matter expertise and contribute as a trusted resource internally and externally Stay up to date with US healthcare trends to bring fresh, relevant perspectives to your work About you Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s or advanced degree (MA/MS or PhD) in a relevant field such as epidemiology, health economics, public health, statistics, or similar. Minimum 4 years’ consulting, healthcare, or pharmaceutical/device industry work experience. Strong analytical skills with experience working with US healthcare data (claims or EHR data highly valued) Experience in HEOR and/or RWE is essential, particularly with observational studies and secondary data sources such as claims, EHR, real-world data, or other observational datasets. Experience managing these studies and engaging directly with clients is also highly valued. Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines. A collaborative mindset and confidence working in cross-functional teams. A proactive, curious approach with a passion for improving healthcare outcomes. Preferred Qualifications Experience working within a life sciences, healthcare, or strategy consulting environment is highly desirable, with a strong understanding of client service, project delivery, and stakeholder management. Experience presenting research results at scientific conferences and/or a record of peer-review publications.
