Job Description Industry The client is a professional association for people working “information professionals” – including knowledge managers, librarians and people working in information governance. It is a chartered body dedicated to uniting, supporting and advocating for information professionals in all sectors. The client has existed as an organisation for over 100 years, but the sector is undergoing unprecedented change in the way it uses knowledge, information, data and technology. The client urgently needs to adapt to deliver a more modern, streamlined, digitally agile and decentralised organisation that can respond to the changing needs of its members. Therefore, the client is looking for an experienced change and transformation professional to oversee and manage multiple projects aimed at transforming the way they are structured, financially and organisationally. The client requires somebody who has experience of overseeing major organisational change and has experience of working with not-for-profit Trustee Boards. Role The Programme Manager role is to ensure successful delivery of the change and transformation programme by providing expertise including, but not limited to: change management, procurement and management of professional advisers, business case management, planning and dependency management, quality assurance, risk/issue management & reporting. As Programme Manager the successful candidate will act as a senior leader and will play a key role in the execution of the programme. This role will mean the successful candidate has the opportunity to work closely with senior internal and external stakeholders to drive change; as well as ensuring the future success of the organisation. The initial phase of the programme is about procuring professional advice in relation to their pension, property and legacy financial structures. The Programme Manager will oversee and pull these strands of work together with a view to presenting options to the Board of Trustees in summer 2021. Alongside this work, they would expect the successful ICG candidate to develop a project plan and associated project documentation such as budget, risk and communications plans for future phases of the programme. Key Responsibilities: Programme and Project Management Manage and lead the programme on a day-to-day basis Procure and oversee the work of external professional advisers Design the project structure and methodology and set project controls Develop and maintain the project plans, capture assumptions and identify dependencies Manage performance and report progress Stakeholder Management Consult with colleagues on the best tools & techniques for managing stakeholder relationships Provide assurance on the effectiveness of stakeholder management and engagement arrangements Risk management and assurance Establish and own the processes and standards for managing risks, issues and assumptions Develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate. Identify and work with colleagues to manage interdependencies Organise assurance processes such as gateway reviews, as required Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience: A proven track record and experience in delivery of managing complex programmes and projects Strong planning skills with significant experience of working in a major transformation programme, with a proven track record in delivering to time, cost and quality A strong focus on delivery – ability to work alongside colleagues to drive delivery of project milestones Strong analytical skills and ability to assimilate information into coherent plans and communications Exceptional senior stakeholder engagement skills, including preparing reports at Board level Exceptional communication skills with the ability to manage relationships at all levels Start: The client is offering this position on an initial 6-month fixed term contract,with possible extension depending on the outcomes of the first phase of the project. The work is to begin ASAP. Location: UK - Remote working is envisaged at the outset of the project. Rates : Net £48,000 payable to the successful applicant, with additional per diems.
